What is powder coating and how does it compare to Wet spray painting? Powder coating is the application of paint in the form of tiny dry particles. Unlike traditional wet spray painting methods, we simply use a clean and efficient electrostatic powder coating process. This process is generally less prone to mistakes than wet spray.
These stages ensure optimal long term powder adhesion and corrosion resistance. Passing Salt Spray tests for 2,000+ hours are possible, depending on substrate and powder selection. Next, your parts go to our clean room. This climate-controlled room is the heart of maintaining your quality. Finely ground particles of pigment and resin (powder) are electro-statically charged and sprayed onto the parts to be coated.
The caliber of your coater shows up in their quality control system and with custom coaters. Their quality is your quality! QS/ISO 9000 is not measure of quality, but a method of getting there, we use our own quality process and measurements to assure optimal quality and system performance. Schafer Powder Coating is proud to announce the construction of a new facility that we will be moving into by the beginning of 2007. The plant will be located in the Mayflower Industrial Park just 2 miles away from our current building. Schafer's expansion will be home to a brand new state of the art conveyor powder line along with batch capabilities for both powder and electrostatic wet spray.
