Over a century ago, a young man, Ludwig Burger, came to America and after a short time had the privilege of opening his own shoe business. He began with shoe repair, a craft he learned as a young teen in Zalog, Slovenia. Mr. Burger soon gained the trust of his patrons through honesty and hard work.
Throughout the years, he developed many loyal customers and friendships - making his business a staple in this community. Maria, Ludwig's only child, grew up in the shoe store watching her father resole boots and make favorite footwear look new again. By the age of 13, she was working the sales floor.

This shoe store is not your box store shoes...there is a live person assisting you from a greeting as you enter the store - until you leave....They'll measure your foot and help you find a comfortable shoe...prices are higher than box stores ..but, so is the quality. Any problems with the shoe can be corrected by the in-store repairman ..about 3 days a week.... It is a small store with big rewards.

Knowledgeable employee and helpful. Got new work boots here after searching so many other stores and trying online orders that didn't work out. I have wide toes and narrow heel so finding a boot that fits right is so difficult. Burger shoes employee knew which boots would fit my wide toes and how to take up the slack in the heels.

Fantastic customer service and friendly faces. They actually know what they're talking about, can tell you the difference between the many different brand and models, and can for you properly on boots and shoes. Don't order online or go to the big box stores because you'll be disappointed. Shop here.
