Jerry has been my car servicer for 20 years + ! He is my “car doctor” and he makes sure to help me identify what is a priority with my 11 year old car (thaf is paid for). I trust his judgement and know he will not rip me off. He is also very kind and responsive. Brian is very professional and personable. I worked with Brian and Jerry when I went in. They were both kind, informative, and professional. Brian brought me to the car to show me where and why he was recommending the repair that was suggested. No one has done this for me in the 25+ years that I have been driving! I even got follow up calls to check to see how the car was running. I brought my car in to replace a wheel hub and bearing that was starting to fail on my 2012 passat. I was lucky because Jerry and the team got me in and out on the same day that I called. Suffice it to say I was so pleased with the visit that I can't wait until I get more car troubles so that I can pay them a visit again! Does that make me weird? 😂. The reason I called My Dad’s Automotive, my NSX would not start after I had driven to a shopping center; no starter “click”, or power whatsoever. Brian, the owner, personally came out, found me in the lot, diagnosed the problem that the alternator was not re-charging at all, and that he’d follow me back to his shop in case the engine quit altogether while in route ! Not only did they fix it the next day, Jerry noticed my state inspection sticker had expired, so they updated that at the same time ! Their thoroughness and knowledge of cars is impressive ! I arrived 30 minutes early and they took me right away. I had a State Inspection and Emission testing done along with an oil change and an all over check out. I was out in less than an hour. I have been going to this shop for a couple of years and I love these guys and always refer others to them. Very friendly and Honest.

If I could give it zero star a I would. I had my alternator changed a year ago here. It started giving me trouble and I took my car back and they "checked it" and they said it was fine. Instill didn't trust them, I took my car to the dealer turns out the alternator wasn't guvung low power to the batterym , so I spent over 500 dollars on an alternator that just broke down a year later. Trash! Don't waste your time and money with these people.

I will never go to My Dad's Automotive again. Brian, the owner, does great work and I have gone to him previously, but the woman who runs the business side of things is rude and unprofessional. I brought my car in and Brian gave me a list of things to repair. One of the items was under warranty at another shop, so I discussed it with Brian and he told me that the diagnostic fee would be applied to the repair work when I came back in. I took the car to get the one warranty item fixed and made an appointment to bring my car back to My Dad's a few days later to get the rest of the work done

This place was amazing with me when I brought my car in to be serviced. I know hardly nothing about cars so most places will take full advantage of that; My Dads did not. Instead they educated me, fixed what I asked them too, gave my car a full look over and didn't try to sell me any of the usual things other places do. I would highly recommend them and will be bringing my car there any time I need my car to my serviced in the future.

This is the first of my 260+ reviews that isn't restaurant-related and it's because I feel compelled to let people know how great this place is. What sets My Dad's Automotive apart from most other automotive shops is that you get a super-high sense of assurance, from the front desk guy to the owner Brian himself, that you're not being upsold on unnecessary services or receiving subpar or just good-enough service. My Dads model seems to be on maintaining long-term patronage by focusing on what you're asking for and really need and then delivering a high-standard of quality

I needed an oxygen sensor and a transmission cooling line repaired. I read the reviews on yelp for this shop and decided to give them a try. All the 5 star reviews posted about them here are accurate; fair pricing, honest, accurate, fast, friendly, competent; just straight-shooters in general. After years of being abused by the dealerships and other repair shops, these guys are a breath of fresh air; I highly recommend them.

Great auto shop! They are honest and reliable. They don't pressure you into fixing unnecessary repairs but let you know of any issues they're watching. So glad I found a mechanic that doesn't call while fixing your car to let you know about "issues" they've found that need immediate repair, only to get a second opinion that's everything is fine. They are super friendly and family owned.

WHAT A FIND!!! I took my high maintenance BMW there and they were honest, friendly, efficient and brilliant! I will NEVER take any of my cars anywhere else. I took my SUV there to have them try and duplicate the issue that the dealer said I needed to spend $800 to fix.

I will never go anywhere else for car repairs ever again. After my car sustained some damage that would've cost me thousands at a big chain 'competitor', I took my car to the professionals at My Dad's and they had me in and out in one day and saved me close to 1000 bucks! The level of technical expertise between these two guys is incredible, they knew how to get into places that the other guys would've had to take my entire engine out to reach! They conducted a full inspection in just a few hours, then showed me everything going on underneath the car and walked me through

These guys are fantastic. I had my car towed to My Dads when my starter failed, and they had my car diagnosed and repaired within hours, all at a reasonable price. I even received a check-in follow-up call a day or two later from OJ to ensure all was still well. I'll trust My Dads with all of my future auto needs, from oil changes and annual inspections to minor or major repairs. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

Making an appointment for routine service was very easy. Once I arrived I also informed them that I was hearing a squalling noise when the engine was running. No problem ; the mechanic would look at that as well. After my routine maintenance and a new serpentine belt was completed my car was as good as new. The office manager is very friendly and the waiting area is very comfortable with a big screen TV. I was in and out in about an hour and prices seem very reasonable. This will be go to mechanic in the NOVA area.

Came in on my (rare) day off without an appointment, asking if they might possibly have time for an oil change, air filter replacement, headlight restoration, and a state inspection. Soon as I walk in, I'm greeted with a smile by an incredibly friendly and personable receptionist saying, "yes, we do!" Clean/neat lobby, free coffee, TV playing... 30-40 minutes later my car was ready. Bonus, I was actually shown other parts of the car that need a little extra monitoring for the future, and not simply told a bunch vehicular jargon... extra time taken just to help me get a better understanding

This is an A Plus ++ operation. The owner Brian has incredible automotive knowledge, and knows how to communicate this to his clients. He found ways to greatly reduce costs for me, instead of charging outrageously as I have found in Fairfax County.
He went to the trouble of presenting a short and low term auto care plan for me in priority order with costs. This plan really helped me make intelligent financial decisions concerning my older car.
I would recommend My Dad's Automotive to all friends and colleagues.

Brian is my most trusted mechanic! Most recently he spent an ample amount of time reviewing a CRV my boyfriend was interested in buying. He test drove it, put it up on a lift, and discovered quite a few issues that we never would have known about! Brian saved him from making a $5,500 mistake. Brian is knowledgable, kind, and honest.
