My name is Mike Horner, and I founded Automated Window Treatments (AWT) in 2012. Growing up, I spent afternoons, weekends, holidays and summer vacations helping my mom in her drapery sewing workroom. After 15 years of working in my San Francisco-based family business, Horner & Company, I ventured out to start AWT focusing primarily on motorized projects such as ordering and installing Lutron Shades or retrofitting Roman shades with Somfy motors.
Many of my installation projects are manual from J Art Iron to Kirsch to Stroheim & Romann drapery hardware. I have attended motorized trainings with Lutron, Somfy, Silent Gliss, BTX, Goelst and Hunter Douglas. With hundreds of installations and service calls, there is no problem too big or too small.
