In truth, 90% of the service and repair boats require can be accomplished at your dock, and in many cases, is better performed there. We perform on the water diagnosis and repair so we can more efficiently determine the root cause of a problem and get it repaired quickly. During service appointments, we put your boat in the water and operate systems under load to better assess your boat's performance in real world conditions.
Of course this is hard to answer from our end with out actually evaluating your boat first. Fortunately, we have a lot of experience diagnosing boats that wont start and have a good rule of thumb for estimating these costs. If the problem is MINOR in nature, we can usually diagnose and repair the issue within an hour.

Matt is a great guy and a great boat repairman. Have had him fix issues that I can't for the last 3 years with my boat. Every time he's looked at something, he's told me what the problem is, what needs to be done to fix it, and what other issues I may have in the future with parts that aren't associated with the problem. I'm *somewhat* mechanically inclined, so I appreciate the fact that he will diagnose a problem and tell you what needs to be replaced/fixed if you have the ability to go that route yourself instead of having him fix it. Took boat to MMS in order to evaluate and fix a clicking while turning the boat. Due to the season ending, I agreed to have it winterized at the same time. Boat was winterized and the bill reflected some work done to the outdrive. Assumed when the boat was returned that the issue I had originally took the boat to MMS for was fix. When I took the boat out for this new season, I had to pull the boat because it was inoperable. The issue was not fixed and even worse. I had Matt do some work for me in the past and always wondered if the work I asked to be done was actually done. The most recent experience I had with him exposed the shyster he is. My boat wouldn't start so I asked him to look at the starter. He called me after looking at it and said he needed to pull my engine (inboard) because he believed water seized the engine. I had a second mechanic come and look and discovered it was in fact a starter issue. When I confronted Matt, he acted surprised and refused to do a three way conference call with the other mechanic. Horrible services. Do NOT recommend. Used Matt's service for approx 2 years. After opening the boat last Spring, we discovered it was filthy with mud tracked everywhere. When I questioned him about this he said I should've moved the boat to a less muddy area (it is parked at the end our our driveway on the grass) instead of just taking his shoes off once on board.

Every year I drop my boat off for service at our local shop. They do a good job, but if there's any issue, I obviously don't find out until it's back on the water - then I have to reschedule service, trailer the boat and go through the whole ordeal again. What a pain. This year, I found Mobile Marine and left Matthew a message on a Sunday morning after another mechanic couldn't diagnose my issue. He called me back the SAME day and wiggled around his schedule to show the following day -

Larson Powerboats Sports NW (a Regal dealer) in Fife did a pre-buy inspection and tuneup costing us $1,400 on our Regal boat. We got the boat back after about a month. It would not plane and two of the eight cylinders were not firing. Larson would not give our $575 inspection fee back.

I have been using Matthew with Mobile Marine for my boss' boats for a number of years now, and I have been incredibly pleased with his service. We use him to winterize, de-winterize, for regular maintenance, and whatever other boat services are required. He's always where he says he'll be when an appointment is made. Matthew is always willing to accommodate.
Just recently, one of the boats wasn't starting. Matthew came to the rescue. He picked up the non functioning boat from the private dock, and dropped it off to get serviced. 2 new engines later, Matthew delivered
