Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth using metal brackets and archwires. With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.
Wearing elastics (or rubber bands) improves the fit of your upper and lower teeth. Wear rubber bands as instructed, and remember that the rubber bands work far more efficiently if they're worn as prescribed. The Forsus Fatigue Resistant Device is an alternative to headgear which promotes growth in adolescents, helping to eliminate excessive overbites, improve the fit of teeth, and possibly prevent the need for jaw surgery.

As an adult going back for round number two of ortho, I highly recommend Dr. Lewis and her staff. I just completed an 11month treatment program with Invisalign and am extremely happy with the results. A I've aged my teeth have shifted and gotten increasingly crowded on the bottom. I had an initial treatment plan of 29weeks followed by one more refinement of 9weeks. It was worth the time, hassle (brushing after eating literally anything), and cost. I would highly recommend seeing an orthodontist for any movement of teeth...there is a reason this requires several extra years of specialty
