Total Home Improvements was founded in 1991 by brothers Gene and Randy Firth. Gene was a real estate agent, working for a builder/developer. Randy had recently gotten out of a business with his father. In his business, Gene had discovered that many people who were selling their homes needed repairs done before they could close.
They were looking for someone who could do all of the miscellaneous repairs without having to call numerous companies. Today, Total Home Improvements is one of the largest home improvement companies on the Peninsula. With approximately 30 employees, as well as many subcontractors who work for them daily, their service area now includes the Peninsula and Southside as well as Williamsburg.

Great business to work with. I had the pleasure of working with Matt on a recent home project. He was courteous, professional and extremely knowledgeable. This was our 2nd time we used Total Home Improvements to do some major work in our home. 13 years ago they put up a few walls on the first level and reconfigured our upstairs recreation space and painting. No regrets at all. This past couple of months we had them redo our Master bedroom, additional window installed, flex space off our master and a complete master bath remodel, and all common hallways and stairway custom 60 inch wainscoting with photo shelving and painting of all areas renovated and new toilet installed in hall bathroom. Painted front porch and replaced pillar and handrails. EXCELLENT

Hello, I am pleased to see that some people had a good experience with this supplier. I was not so fortunate. I hired this company to do a relatively small job at my house, something that would take one or two days to do. Well, when they were done, I inspected their work and found several serious discrepancies. They came back to fix those. I inspected again and found they didn't fix the discrepancies very well, and I discovered additional concerns. They came back a second time, and again didn't do so well for me. I ended up arranging with others to re-do most of their work. I hope my experience

The Total Team was excellent from the first contact. Chezarae knew exactly what Jeff was looking for! Chris, John and Spud were always professional. John and Spud were thoughtful when it came to putting their walkway over our pergula. We are 100% pleased with their performance...will call them first from now on!

For the second time in two years we have used Total Home Improvement for home upgrades and have been extremely pleased with both projects. We just finished a master bath remodel and closet addition and we are so happy with the job THI did. Doug was our project manager and he took great care with our project. He was always available for question and concerns and he stayed on top of all aspects. We miss him stopping by most days!
