Great ambiance with the flame seating. The Spicy Watermelon Margarita was amazing I ended up getting two. Don't skip the homemade kettle chips, they are so light and flaky. I ordered the Cheesesteak and it was fabulous. I got the Kale salad on the side which was super fresh just needed a bit more dressing. Hubby got the Nashville Hot Chicken and said it was great too. Our waiter was very attentive.

The atmosphere was great. Awesome place to hang out and get drinks with friends but my gf and I came in for lunch and it was a sh*t show.
We ordered 3 things and 1/3 came out right after enduring a long wait. The dry rub chicken was great but the bloody mary never arrive, and the burger was the most plain, driest, overcooked medium rare I've have tasted. Overall, never coming back for food.

Looking for a restaurant close to where I was staying in PB offers slim pickings for 4 stars and above. Backyard Kitchen seemed to have what we wanted with high enough ratings.
The staff was very friendly telling us we could sit where we wanted. it's a giant bar/ restaurant. So many choices! We found a nice 4 top in an isolated area and had a seat. We ordered drinks and the recommended wings. The Prosecco that I ordered had to be found so I waited.
We ordered dinner. Steak frites, and 2 Caesar salads with salmon as protein. The server returned. Found the Prosecco and they no longer offer

Brunch at Backyard blew away my expectations! I went in with a small group to enjoy some Sunday football, but the level of flavor in every dish was fantastic. I had the chicken and biscuits which was loaded with flavor - the biscuit was delicious and the fried chicken was cooked to perfection. My only critique would be the egg not being runny at all. I also tried the steak and eggs, and the steak was super high quality and cooked just right - medium rare. The prices for brunch are typical of San Diego, overpriced but you stay for the ambiance and quick service!

I stopped in early on a Saturday after catching a flight from Texas. Heard a good word about this place from a local. I'm glad I came. It was 9:00 am but 5 o'clock somewhere, right?
We were greeted and seated right away. The waitress was very friendly and super attentive. She gave a couple amazing recommendations and I was very happy to oblige.
The breakfast nachos were very interesting to this good ole Texas girl. Tortilla chips, shredded chicken drenched in salsa rojo which really tasted similar to tomato soup and topped with eggs (I chose scrambled). I enjoyed it but I will say

This place didn't have the bottomless mimosas that I have heard so much about but they (kind of) made up for it with their unlimited napkin approach. There is a limit on the ice in the water cup because i asked if I could get more ice next round and she said it was already filled to the top with ice, so. The dogs here wouldn't look at me when I looked at them.
The steak and eggs was pretty good. I asked for the eggs to be done medium well (like my steak, to make it easier for the chef or the cook (I'm unsure how you title them at the different places - no one ever teaches you that

Our new favorite!! From the moment we arrived with our pup we were treated like family! Jill was our server and she was truly amazing! They brought a water bowl for our pup and even have a doggie menu so she could dine with us! Great atmosphere, food and truly amazing staff! Thank you again Jill for making our visit memorable!

The food and drinks were delicious. The atmosphere is great... fireplace, big screen tv's to watch the games on, and live music. Our server, Jill, was the absolute friendliest person and so attentive, making sure the food was to our liking and our drinks were full... well, my drinks anyway. They make a pretty good lemon drop martini by the way.

A fun place to grab drinks and watch sports games. The space is open and has plenty of seating, but recommend sitting at the bar for quick and easy service if you're not planning on having a large group. Came in on a Sunday and ordered off the brunch menu. The food was just 'okay' - mini biscuits were crispy all the way through, the eggs in the crab and shrimp omelette was slightly overcooked rendering it a little tough, and the hashbrowns were cool and not crispy at all. The portion size for the omelette was plenty for two people.
Overall would return to try their fun summer drinks

This place was not the greatest. I came here on a friday hoping they would have bottomless mimosas but it was only a saturday special. That was okay however since we decided to stay and order food.
I ordered the fish and chips, calamari, as well as the burgers. The fries were seasoned way too salty and not the crispiest. The fish I had actually was crispy but the fish was not seasoned making the dish overall very unpleasant. I liked the addition of fried peppers to the calamari but I found big pieces of calamari stuck together which was not appealing when trying to eat them. We ordered multiple

Met an old colleague for lunch. We were thinking Mavericks but they hadn't opened up for service just yet... it was pre-noon. But next door was Backyard Burgers. There were a handful of customers.. weoptedfor the patio area and it was perfect. There are no menus but there is a QR code for you to scan on the corner of the table which pops up your menu. We both ordered cocktails but changed to the Mai Tai... it didn't disappoint. Friend ordered a Burger with sweet potato fries and I ordered the BBQ Burger with fries. The burger was huge and there were fries for 2 maybe 3. The burger

This place overall had good reviews and what looks like a great patio so we thought we'd check it out for dinner/drinks. But my overall experience was meh....
We got there around 6:30pm and opted to sit inside because the patio was already a party with a DJ. We just wanted a relaxing chill drink or two. We sat at the bar - no drink menu here, just standard cocktails by request and beer on tap. The food was greasy and standard bar food.
By 8pm, the entire restaurant was packed and everyone was drunk. The guy next to us spilled beer all over us, the bartenders barely gave us any attention

Underwhelming.
Drinks are better than the food.
If you like expensive, meh made drinks that are liquor forward, come to Backyard Kitchen & Tap where it is not in a backyard and is much more tap than kitchen
3 Stars because the Taco Tuesday Brisket Quesadilla was great. Amazing meat.
Everything else disappointed me, but my lady love reminded me, "Expect nothing." Then I enjoyed myself with 2 cocktails.

I've got to give credit where credit is due. My baby girl had been planning her 21st birthday with one of her activities being a birthday brunch. Being the Yelper that I am, I kept suggesting places where she could eat at, but to no avail because she was dead set on finding the right restaurant that had the right vibe. Since this was a life milestone birthday, I let her do her thang. She picked the perfect place in Backyard Kitchen & Tap to celebrate turning 21.

Loved the backyard casual vibe. The indoor seating was great as it was very “open air”, but they had lots of heat lamps and a fire “strip”. Outdoor looked fun but it was not really being used as it was not that crowded on a Thursday night. Great service and good food. Lots of draft beer options!

We started with an awesome order of kettle chips with Gorgonzola and chive dip. Chips were thin but sturdy enough for the dip. Really tasty. I recommend them.
I had a cheeseburger with kale slaw for my side and my vegan daughter had the Black Bean Quinoa Burger with fries. I also had a pint of the 805 Blonde beer.
Overall we had a great meal in a very busy part of PB. Good service from the host and our waitress. I like the layout in this place with the outdoor patio area for seating as well as the open to the street dining area with just enough privacy. Good place to try for some food and drink

This is a brewery but I ended up there during brunch time. Though they just had like 5 options on the menu for brunch, what they served wasn’t that bad. I especially liked the acai bowl. Got scallion cheddar biscuit but that was not as warm as I expected. Though ther service was good, we got our tables relatively quickly as compared to other restaurants around the area.

My wife and I were on vacation on Mission Beach, so we took the walk up to Pacific Beach. We had never been to Backyard, even though we have passed by it 10's of times.
We got a seat by the open window during COVID and I ordered an IPA.
Then I ordered the lobster roll. Our server was super cool and the roll was full of lobster and not a lot of filler. The bread was fully toasted and buttered and it was amazing. The baked beans may have been canned with some added fixings, but they were good.
I ordered a second IPA and everything was a splendid Sunday lunch!

Came here for brunch. The brisket and eggs was very tasty. Good coffee too. The pricing was ok. Expect to pay between $12 and $15 per plate. Portions were good sized so you won't leave hungry.
The staff was friendly and it was a relaxing atmosphere out on the patio. Parking was easy at 9 am but began to fill up around 10 am.

Was not anything special if you are going just to eat. Their fish tacos were excellent but the side portion was kind of small for the price. The BBQ Ribs were spicy and sweet. Spicy as they had a heat that build as you kept eating them. My brother loved the mac n cheese. Waitress was friendly. Dog friendly.
