Save your money we paid $100 for our food to get a Giant horse FLY inside our food. We hadn't even received most of our order, when my sister threw up from such a disgusting experience. We were offer a refund. From a $100 order they refunded us back $4 only for the tamal that had the FLY, what a joke. Mind you it was just 3 of us eating save your money, the place is over priced and slow service on top of unsanitary.

I've been eating at Casa Vicki for decades now, I just ordered from door dash a few things.

A meat platter, my choice is always carnitas. My guy wanted chicken mole.

We ordered extra rice and beans! The total was $82.75

Our food was delivered on a scooter!!! Even though my profile notes state clearly, "if your using any mode of transportation besides a motor vehicle don't pick up my order!!!"

You know what I get every time? Any version of delivery except a motor driven vehicle!

You know what else I get each time? Cold food that costs three times as much as if I had

We did a la carte items to do a build-your-own burrito bar, and everything was delicious. Highly recommend.

This place has so much potential and used to be better in years past. Their fresh tortillas to go are tasty but unfortunately the food doesn't measure up. It's really bland with hardly any spice or proper flavors. The salsas aren't spicy enough to compensate.

I hope it improves.

They catered a family birthday party. The food was perfect, delicious, set up well and there was plenty. We were satisfied with their service.

Great and hard working staff. During the big changes endured by the pandemic the staff and owner were ready to be to safely provide food for the community to enjoy. My children love it there. Our favorite dishes are enchiladas, tacos, burritos, tamales and of course the horchata.

This place is a joke. Save your money. The service here is extremely slow, I don't know how long it takes to make a bean and cheese burrito. Apparently 15 to 20 minutes. Not to mention, the food is bland and It has no flavor. Literally six people working here, one of them taking her lunch break at noon. Nobody in the back making my food.

Casa Vicky catered our party this past weekend. The food was amazing! Everyone raved, many saying it was the best mexican food they ever had. The hand made tortillas of course are the "star", but the chili verde was also really special, deep rich flavor and I can say it was the best I've ever had and I have had many! Maria came with a helper to set everything up, she is adorable! Everything executed perfectly, I highly recommend them for catering.

We had high expectations: a SJ family restaurant established in 1968, recently celebrated and recognized by a special Covid grant by the city of SJ.

Unfortunately our first experience (take-out/we went to pick it up) will be our last.

=============================
Pros (for the sake of being fair):

*Very generous amounts of food.
*The guac is actually guac, not "guacasalsa" or similar rip-off concoction.
*The restaurant itself is clean.

=========================
Cons: Where to begin?

Service cons:

*Not everyone speaks English there, not everyone speaks Spanish either. You

When I read about this restaurant, the prospect of freshly made tortillas was promising. But the food was awful. I'll never come back.

The tortillas were fresh, but strangely enough, lacking flavor. The flour tortillas were nothing like the excellent Sonoran style flour tortillas of Northern Mexico. The fresh corn tortilla was forgettable. I've had far better.

The beans were horrendous -- nothing authentic about these, tasting of gringo chili powder mixed in with some kind of fat and pinto beans. The cheese was not good. Chicken was dry and did not taste fresh. Rice was lacking flavor

Bottom line: a small business where quality and freshness of flamey ingredients shine. Somehow when combined into a burrito, the sum is lesser than its inputs.

We enjoyed a vege burrito, mojado super burrito, side of rice, side of beans, side of tortillas.

*****side of tortillas*****
Pack of 10, freshly made. They feel fresh to the touch. Straight fire to the taste. You can actually taste a nice blend of flour and some sort of fatty binding agent.

*****side of rice*****
It's moist, it's seasoned, it's flamey. A scoop of it alone is a joya le experience in your mouth

First time here so my review will probably change as I try more on their menu. This review is only for their SUPER BURRITO!

I tried their Super Burrito w. carnitas. A solid burrito, they make their tortilla in-house and their carnitas are pretty fire. So why 3 stars? The burritos are wayyy too expensive. I looked up their menu on yelp expecting to pay $10 for a burrito but prices have been updated and a Super Burrito will cost you $15. But whatever... the pictures of the burritos on yelp are HUGE! Worth it right? I was expecting a chipotle size burrito... one you could barely fold BUT instead

Looking for the best hand made flour tortillas in San Jose?! Look no further, Casa Vicky tortillas are it!!

We love stopping by for tortillas on special occasions and they're always a hit. I got lucky this weekend and they were fresh off the griddle, nice and warm, I couldn't resist and so ripped off a piece as soon as I got into my car.

Thank you Casa Vicky for making delicious tortillas!

Great breakfast! Great everything love this place!

I wish my beer was just a tad bit less salty, and my daughter wishes there was more green chile in her veggie tamales, lots of corn!

Delicious! but lots of corn. Both of my boys loved their breakfast burritos with beans and bacon! Gracias!!

I've now been here twice. Both times were Taco Tuesday. On Tuesdays their taco's are $1 each, your choice of meat. The corn tortillas are homemade. If you dine in the first round of chips and salsa is free. So for 8 carne asada tacos, chips and salsa and two cans of coke came out to be $13. When you first look at them you'd think "hmmmm, maybe 4 won't be enough" because they are street taco size but my husband and I had 4 each last night and we were full.

We got there right after work so there was still plenty of parking out front. Only a hand full of people inside

IMHO

Have I mentioned the great, personal customer service here at Casa Vicky? We always feel very welcomed and valued when we come here. Just that feeling alone makes me want to return again and again.

Please do! This family run business cares about the quality food and service they bring to their customers.

Tip: If Paul is there, ask about the "secret menu"! Think "burrito bowl"!
