Sagar Sweets has been proudly serving the Bay Area since 1978. Since day one, we have kept customers our priority, catering to their needs and going above and beyond their expectations. Sagar Sweets began as a small Indian sweet shop offering a wide range of choices like barfi, ladoo, gulab jamun, etc.

But with time, it grew into a small family restaurant where all are welcome to grab a quick bite to eat during tea time, lunch, or dinner. We will assure you that our small restaurant definitely reminds you of home and give you that cozy feeling of a Punjabi "Dhabha". Please contact us to find out more on your catering needs as we take every order very seriously and want to make sure we fulfill every request to the best of our capabilities.

NOTE: Call them up and place order for samosas. I know it's a bit of work, but totally worth it!
This 5 star review is for samosas and the laddoos only. As those are only ones I buy. Both tasted fresh and delicious. There's no dine-in available. They accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, Gpay. The ambience is very non-pretentious, homely. There's street parking available (it's a residential area), but no restrooms for customers.

The somosas and service were great. You really have to call in up front for the somosas as he only makes them fresh. These are times that he is going to give you a few hrs time frame for them. Street parking only which can be an issue at times. Place takes major credit cards and is on door dash also.

My 5 stars is totally based on their sweets and samosa. I have been their multiple times. I love their Samosa, laddu and jalebi and these are best. Other sweets are good as well. For Samosa and tea takeout, you have to call them before as it takes 15-20 minutes to make those. Their food price very reasonable.

I went there at around 8 pm.
There is an old man sitting inside next to door which i did not notice when i walked in.
I was looking for staff to help me with the sweets.
The old man yelled from the door and asked me what i want.
I said, i was looking for sweets.
He yelled back from door and what kind of sweets I want.
After i looked at the sweets i felt they are not looking good and looks soggy.
He was very rude which i never seen anywhere in US.
I showed him a sweet and asked him the name of it.
He started yelling at me angrily.
He yelled again like not knowing the name of the sweet

I ordered a togo veg biryani. After opening the box I was confused if it was fried rice since there was no gravy. It was just frozen veggies sauteed with basmati rice, jeera, and garam masala. For once I thought may be the order was misunderstood and checked their menu and realized they don't serve fried rice. I can't still believe how on earth can this dish be called biryani. Also no raitha or shorba!
Most importantly it smelled like dish soap, appeared like the pan wasn't washed well and had soap traces.
We threw it.
Please don't order biryani here.

The owner is rude when you ask a few simple questions. If you still want the sweets and samosas from this place, just place an online order and pick it up at the store. Saves your day by avoiding meeting the person. I ordered jilebi, they were cold but still tasted good.

Samosas are great. Sweets are hit or miss. Owner is rude 7/10 times. So if you get offended easily, not the place for you. Coming here for 2 and half years, same service, disappointing. Could have been 5 stars. But really, samosas are 5/5. (That's why I'm still coming)

Came here half an hour before closing tonight. I got the samosa chaat and a pound of mixed mithai (sweets). The samosas are huge! They're some of the biggest samosas I've seen at a restaurant in a while considering the size everywhere seems to be getting smaller. The sholay were fresh and flavorful. The chutneys on the chaat were yummy as well. This samosa chaat is probably the best that I've had this year. The brown barfi looking pieces were delicious. The mango barfi was decent but the gulab jamuns (brown balls with the coconut) were not cooked thoroughly because all the middles were a bit hard

I went because I heard great things. The owner was super nice and offered me free sweets after I had the best samosa ever made.
