Whether I am renovating a historic home or building a custom piece of furniture, my philosophy is simple; do right by the house and the client. Many contractors will attempt to look bigger than they are to entice business, but my focus will always be the homeowner and the integrity of the project. Who would have thought that being covered in sawdust would be one of the greatest decisions I've ever made? I started Schoolhouse Woodworking with the hope that one day it would turn into my full-time career. I guess the old saying "choose a job you love, and you'll never have to work a day in your life" turned into a self-fulfilling prophecy for me.
Who's Excited for the Holiday Season? Well Heck I am! I am looking forward to the chilly nights around a fire, sipping apple spiced cider, and wearing roll neck sweaters (maybe just a me thing). My husband is writing a book. I struggled to find the perfect Christmas gift. A few days before Christmas, I found the perfect gift at SchoolHouse WW. He is so inspired to see his book title appearing on a three stack of wooden books . My request was a bit unique and raised some barriers, but despite a shot deadline, they overcame all obstacles! Stayed in touch and worked diligently to get it to me by Christmas.

Today I took a cutting board class with Jeff. The class was entertaining, informative, and fun. We laughed often (unexpected for a woodworking class) and asked many questions. Jeff is sincere, earnest, honest, full-hearted, and funny! He is an expert in all things wood- from tools, to finishes, to the wood itself- and he wants you to feel and understand the deep passion he has. Worth every penny and minute.

I took part in a cutting board class with Jeff. I never used many of the tools we used but Jeff put me at ease immediately. He is a true professional, knows everything about wood, tools, and explains every step of the project well. My cutting board came out great! It looks like it is very expensive. I never thought it would be so beautiful! Keep having those classes!

SchoolHouse Woodworking is one of my "must do's" when I visit my mom in Downingtown. I haven't been in over a year due to Covid but it was such a delight to be in the store on Saturday and get to speak with Jeff and see what new items they have. I always buy something everytime! Such great handmade items - tables and chairs, cutting boards, signs, gardening items, soaps & potpourri, you can always find something! Can't wait to come back again and hope to take one of the classes in the future when they return.
