I would not recommend this salon at all. I had the worst haircut experience at Salon James. I left horrified at how I was treated and how it was a grueling few hours, not at all fun/relaxing. My hairdresser was extremely rude, harsh, and just all-around miserable. She was sarcastic and so hard on my hair. I blame myself partly for not specifying a specific hairdresser, as I took the earliest available...trusting that the salon only employs kind and talented hairdressers, but I was mistaken. I will say that the front desk staff and the other hair techs that wash your hair were super nice and friendly

The salon is always very clean and organized and I have had nothing but excellent experiences. Courtney does a great job and is very creative if you have an idea in mind. She’s super friendly and a great stylist. Amy also does a great job on eyebrows and facials!

I would definitely recommend this salon for its cleanliness and its professional staff. Scott was amazing in that he understood my vision which was a corporate, Wall Street look. I am amazed by his cutting skills and his accuracy and precision with the cut. His talent is phenomenal and the haircut turned heads afterwards. . It was very sleek and classic. I have already booked another appointment with him in the future

Scott has been my stylist for a long time and for a great reason!!! He is fantastic, listens to me as a client, and also is works with my hair and hair type. If I give him an idea in advance, he always researches the best way to make the idea happen. He is an amazing colorist, with over 15 years of balayage experience too!!! We have balayage styled my hair since 2006 and this time chose to go with foil highlights, which were the perfect choice for the sun kissed waves I now have. I have wavy to curly brown hair and the cut and color Scott just gave me only enhances the natural curl. Also, his product

I have thin Asian hair, but I have a lot of it. I have learned that you get what you pay for when it comes to haircut and styling. So although Salon James appears to be on the high-end (women's haircut $55 and up), it is well worth it when you find the right person.

They do not specialize in textured hair. When I spoke to the receptionist over the phone, I informed her that my daughter was African-American with tightly curled hair and no relaxer. She assured me that the stylist could do her hair, but would need more time. That's perfectly fine.
The salon itself is beautiful and the staff is friendly.
With the initial consultation, we discussed the cut my daughter wanted. The textures didn't match but she was interested in the shape. Once washed and stylist could actually see her texture, she balked. She stated that she had never had a client

Absolutely amazing! I just moved to the area and have had a lot of traumatizing hair experiences. I was so relieved to finally find Courtney. She's an amazing colorist and freshened up my cut and gave me the soft blended layers I've always wanted. I came in with years of box black hair dye and she gave me a beautiful balayage. Really reasonable prices too!! Thank you Courtney!!

Finally, after diligent searching and mega fails, I've found a truly GREAT salon! From the moment I walked in the door I felt special. Great cut, great color and an overall relaxing and enjoyable experience. Challenging didn't scare Kristin Stephens and the outcome has generated many compliments, even weeks later. Now that's the sign of a good cut and color! I'm happy to pay for a quality product and quality abounds at Salon James. Next time I may try a wax or get my nails done as well! I'm absolutely thrilled my search is over and Salon James is now my salon!

The salon is beautiful inside, they were just remolded. The front desk girls are very nice and personable. I have been going there for years and know many of the stylists, they are all talented. I have had my hair colored, highlighted and cut by Melinda and Jen, they are professional, great to talk too and they really go above and beyond!!! I give this salon an A+++!

I had corrective color done by Jen, and I am overjoyed with how it looks and feels. It turned out exactly like I wanted. Perfect color, feels and looks amazing. She really went above and beyond to help me out. Beth also did a perfect blow out. Couldn't be happier with my results. I highly recommend this salon.
