David got into the auto repair business by way for his father-in-law, who owned Southgate Chevron since 1963, but even before then, he had watched his father building engines in the home garage and started working on his own cars in high school.After joining Southgate Chevron, David became manager and then lead technician, so Cameron, in turn, spent a lot of time in the shop growing up, learning from his dad and grandfather.

5 stars for not even having to Interact with us! It's a good thing actually!🤓👍 We had a totalled car on their lot getting ready for tow and we had to swap the tires before it went. They had it available for us to work on in lot, and even provided excellent security service to ensure other cars don't get tampered with. It's a secure place for your vehichle.

These guys are great. They tell you exactly what’s wrong, how they are going to fix it, and an honest estimate of the costs. The will send you a text showing photos of the problem and a follow up text after you’re done making sure everything went well. If you’re old-school and want a phone call instead they will do that too.
Their online scheduling works great, and the ladies that check you in are always nice and efficient.
I take all my vehicles here.

I had an old vehicle that was having starting problems. I took it to several other places around Reno. Each place replaced something and sent me off without fully fixing the problem. Southgate did an extensive diagnostic on my vehicle and showed me every possible problem it has big or small with photos and video. It was extremely helpful in making the decision whether to keep my vehicle or not. It’s service I’ve been searching for in Reno for years. I am very grateful for Southgate and will definitely return!

Took my Dodge SUV in for a window regulator repair, vehicle inspection, and oil change. Received the vehicle report via link and was done with extreme thoroughness. Called to let them know what I wanted done and they had it ready for me same day. Great service all around. Would definitely recommend and will be returning for future services. Thank you!

I’m still so grateful I found Southgate Automotive after relocating from Illinois. They are an awesome small business who is honest and upfront. I love that they take pictures of the work needed and send it to you so you can see. Also they are able to text message you with updates or authorization and have VERY fair pricing. Because I work in a job that I’m not able to pick up the phone constantly, the text message communication is wonderful. I FULLY TRUST them with my vehicles.

Google reviews cannot be trusted. As you can see, these reviews are flawless. Southgate Auto quoted me $25 to put air in my air rite airbags and over $500 to install a serpentine belt, tension pulley and idler pulley. Would not trust them. Anyone who takes the time to create false reviews will also be willing to falsify their work on vehicles
