While many events through the years can claim to be performed in these walls, today our historic venue serves as a performing arts venue for music and plays and everything else in between. It's one of the most popular locations for weddings, booking months or even a year in advance. Families have used the facility for reunions and other special events.
Today, we invite you to step back in time and join us for one of our many performances taking place. Did you know Piper's Opera House was burnt down twice? Does Maguire's Opera House have the same ring? That is the opera house's original name when built in 1863 by Thomas Maquire, known for his influences with the San Francisco theaters.

The opera house is always beautiful and has so much history. We saw a Comstock Christmas Carol this year and it was a wonderful production. I loved the fog effects and the snow effect and you could tell that the cast worked really hard. The scene changes with the carolers encouraged audience participation and beautifully covered the set changes. For an evening out with my family, it is always a wonderful time to go to the theater!

Incredible experience! You can feel the history from the moment you approach the facade, but the more you explore, the more you learn. The woman running the daily tour period was so knowledgeable and didn't hesitate to answer dozens of questions with more information than we even asked for. I would love to see a show or attend an event here someday.

Went to see a play on 5/7/21 .
The play was extremely amateur for a $30-35 ticket. Pretty high, as Bruka and RLT charge $20-25 for a professional performance in Reno.
The largest problem was lack of control of a drunk rude and noisy audience. The group was told that they could collectively make cheers and Boos. I guess that meant that every individual have their own timing and something to say. I understand that most of the audience was family and friends of the actors. If my family and friends did this to me they would never be allowed back in any theater I perform in. But then my family and
