I LOVE THIS HOTEL. The George is Texas Luxury. It's comfortable but elegant. Classy but not stiff. It smells AMAZING, it's very clean and the decor is so creative and unique. The staff is welcoming and responsive, check-in and out was a breeze. The balcony room was so nice, love the bathroom tile. So many fun food choices within walking distance to eat out or bring back to the room. Love LOVE this place.

We stayed at the George for the first time ... it was very good value for money . They had a neat coffee / fridge / lollies bar .
Valet parking is provided as expected ... but I dropped off my wife and parked in the garage for hotel guests about 100 yards away where the theater is also. Note it seemed most on street parking was paid or reserved.
Coffee in the room was Ok but there is backup coffee at the bar free for the road ...
Request a room facing the East or West in my opinion that way you will get a University view or a view across to Bryan.

Stayed at the George during a business trip. The hotel was great! My room was clean and comfy. The hotel is situated in the heart of the city centre. On one of my days I was greeted with complimentary vouchers for food and drinks from Alyssa!! I ended up grabbing a steak from the the hotel restaurant. I enjoyed my dinner on my balcony.

We stayed at The George for the first time in September ‘21 for our Aggie’s Ring dunk weekend! We loved it! The hotel is beautiful and clean! Alyssa, at the front desk, was extremely helpful with anything we needed for our stay! We spent time at the hotel lobby/bar with our friends! It was a really fun weekend! The sheep in the elevator was an added bonus! Ask about it! Haha!

We had our wedding reception in the Statesman Ballroom at The George Hotel. It was an absolute magical experience and made our special day so wonderful and unforgettable. The staff was very accommodating and so sweet and kind to not only us but our family and guest and just went above and beyond in everything they did. The 1791 bar was great and we had a blast hanging out in the George lobby having drinks and playing shuffle board the night before our wedding. The reception was set up beautifully and the food was to die for, we still have guest bragging about the food, especially the Mac and cheese

I LOVE this place, their original cocktails are awesome!
It's located inside the George, so for guests staying there it's just a quick elevator ride and a turn to the left.
The bartenders were super nice and brought our drinks out to the pool for us.
I will knock off -.25 off on a star because the Paloma wasn't to my tasting.
I will say though, the drinks were LOADED!!!

Disappointing. Have stayed twice now at the George and find the bar the most disappointing part of the hotel. No cocktail waitress (but the college guys working the bar will bring drinks to their girlfriends on laptops at the tables nearby). The bartenders don't know much about mixing drinks - asked for a whiskey highball and got half a glass of whiskey and water with no garnish (had to ask for a lemon slice). A really sad drink. Good selection of whiskey. Hire someone with more experience if you want to position yourself as an upscale place. One star.

Came here hoping for a good whiskey selection and interesting cocktails and was not disappointed. Our server Ezra was really interested in helping me find a drink I would like, and when I picked a drink, they were out of the whiskey that goes into it, so he upgraded my drink with a better whiskey for the same price. Great service and great drinks!

I was so spoiled by the bartender at 1791, not only were the cocktails original, fresh and tasty but you could tell the bartenders took pride in what they were serving. Granted we were there mid-week during spring break (slow for a college town), but had it been busy, I would still make a stop here to start or end my night! Classy, affordable and memorable. Will definitely be going back on our next visit!

Zero stars. Went to get a cocktail before dinner. They had one bartender on staff. Poor guy was trying to keep up but, for a Saturday night you'd think a place that bills itself as luxury would do better! Getting a menu was a struggle. We gave up after 15 mins and went across to Canteen and were served right away.
