Olio
This historic space has been outfitted with every modern amenity to be the ideal space to host functions of all kinds. We provide a non-traditional venue so that our clients have a blank slate to start from and can make the space their own. Without any decor, the soaring ceilings and cement walls feel "industrial chic" but clients can transform the space with glitz and glam, rustic touches, romantic lighting, modern lines, whimsical details, and vintage furniture. If you can dream it, it can be done at Olio.
Services
Olio is proud to be led by a dynamic mother-daughter duo with decades of event planning and business experience. Sarah had been running her event planning company for several years when she recognized a significant gap in the market; clients were looking for a non-traditional event venue flexible enough to accomodate all kinds of functions and professionally operated and equipped with modern amenities.
The original historical documentation for the building refers to an "Olio Curtain" which was hung at the back of the stage in 1912. It was a large single piece of canvas that depicted a Victorian scene. The word olio itself refers to a variety act or show, which recalls the theater history.

It also means a miscellaneous collection of things, which speaks to the flexible and varied nature of the use of the building as well as its more recent history as a storage warehouse - literally a collection of miscellaneous things!Comfort: Modern climate control for heat and air conditioning for maximum indoor comfort all year long.
Due to the unique nature of the non-traditional venue, Olio has a preferred catering list. These are caterers who have extensive experience working in our space and who ensure that the site and city's regulations are being adhered to. They represent a range of budgets and cuisine options. If the client would like to use another caterer, there will be an additional charge and it is subject to the approval of the Event Manager.
This space is breathtaking. To be honest, when my now-husband and I were thinking about spaces to get married, we had no idea what we were looking for but we knew what we weren't looking for. So many wedding venues are pre-designed - skewing a certain style that just wasn't us. As soon as we saw Olio come to life we knew we had to get married there.
We would love to show you our special space. We are located in the heart of downtown Peabody, just minutes from Routes 128 and 1. The closest and largest lot is located at 86 Mill Street, Peabody. It is a two minute walk to our front door. We have a loading zone at our front door, providing easy access for shuttle bus or rideshare drop off or pickup.

Olio is absolutely stunning! They were the first and only wedding venue that we toured, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. When entering Olio, the first floor was unassuming, and we weren't sure if we were in the same space that we had seen in the photos. But wow, when you head over to the stairs! After walking up the grand stairs to the event space, we knew we found the venue for our dream wedding. We were looking for a modern, alternative space that we could hold the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Planning a wedding during the pandemic, we needed a venue that had plenty of

We have been married for over a month now and for a month I’ve tried the best way to put into words our experience at Olio. From the moment we booked to the day of our wedding everything was perfection. Even that word almost does not do it justice. We are two teachers who to say the least have had a crazy year (like us all). Planning a wedding while teaching during a pandemic is a feat. But planning a wedding with Sarah at Olio and her team at Without A Hitch makes all things possible. We searched high and low for a unique wedding space we could make our own. We found that and more in Olio. The

Got married in September and had my reception at Olio! I was truly blown away how the room was transformed, it exceeded all of my expectations. I always knew I didn’t want a standard cookie-cutter wedding, I wanted a space where we could be creative and different. The exposed brick created a beautiful atmosphere that we were able to make our own. Finding/coordinating our vendors was challenging at times (we had to move our wedding because of Covid) but it was all so worth it! Sarah was extremely helpful in recommending vendors and easing our anxieties before the wedding. If you are looking for

The owners of Olio have created a remarkably unique venue that offers a beautiful open floor plan that can be transformed into whatever you want it to be. The floor plan options are endless when considering your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception space and it was a lot of fun watching our plans come to life within the space. As a wedding planner I can honestly say that working with Sarah and the Olio team was a seamlessly wonderful experience. They are organized, clear and there to answer all your questions while you are planning your wedding at Olio. On my couple's wedding day Colleen was

We loved that this venue was the opposite of a country-club wedding. We wanted character, history, and a big open space and Olio was unmatched. A bonus? My now-husband and I met working at a movie theatre and the fact that this was an old theater was absolutely perfect. Sarah was great up until the very last second she was willing and able to answer questions and make accommodations for us. All of our guests were blown away by the venue and space itself and couldn't have imagined a more personal feeling to a wedding. Olio lets you create your own vibe within its space which is magical. Olio provided us with the most stunning venue for both our elopement and reception. The team at Olio was extremely accommodating during our Covid reschedules and treated us with compassion and professionalism during such a crazy time. On top of the exceptional team, the venue itself is a remarkable and unique experience north of Boston. Our guests still talk about the impressive concrete walls and high ceilings. Olio was the perfect backdrop for our love story.

I went to a wedding here over the weekend. I can't speak to how they were to deal with, but the space was pretty cool. They don't have their own parking, but there were lots around. On street parking has a limit, so for daytime functions, keep an eye on the clock.

Floors were good for dancing. The acoustics were decent for the music and microphone use. The ladies room was new, clean and plentiful. They had an elevator like I'd never seen before. I liked the venue from a guest point of view.

Olio is an absolutely stunning, one of a kind, and beautiful event space, perfect for any wedding! I am so thrilled with my experience with Olio for my April 2021 wedding. Yes, a pandemic wedding! Sarah (the owner) was wonderful from begining to day of event, and so patient with the ever changing circumstances. Her true passion for Olio was contagious and I think I love the event almost as much as her now. As I was planning my wedding over a year ago, I knew that I wanted a space that was unique and not the typical "shiny white" wedding venue and Olio was the perfect industrial vibe steeped in

As what some would call a Corona Bride, having a wedding in 2020 has been a daunting and sometimes honestly depressing task. Until... We came across Olio and started working with Sarah. Sarah took away allllll of the stress and anxiety that my now Husband and I were feeling after canceling our initial wedding. She was patient, flexible, and all around supportive and helpful throughout the whole process. We ultimately planned and pulled off such an amazing wedding in just 6 weeks, in large part due to the help of Sarah and the flexibility that Olio offered. The space itself is stunning and really

I held a workshop at Olio in Peabody a couple of weeks ago. The owners there were very easy to work with, extremely responsive and helpful, answering all of our questions and helping us plan (even in these uncertain times) for our very successful event.
It is such a large space, we were able to spread everyone out safely. Olio is truly a gem hiding in downtown Peabody, MA. We knew after taking the tour that it was perfect for our event. It has the feel of a fancy Boston loft event space. Highly recommend you check it out!

Olio is the best wedding venue on the North Shore. It is truly a hidden gem. We toured Olio during the construction process and were instantly drawn in by its size and ambiance. The industrial walls and wood floors were a perfect match for our vision. We have visited many times and are always spellbound by the size of the room. Beyond its stunning interior and historic features, Olio offers peace of mind throughout the planning process as owner Sarah Narcus walks you through every step of the way. Like many other couples, our wedding was rescheduled twice due to Covid-19 and Olio was beyond accommodating

I couldn't give this venue a high enough rating. The entire experience was absolutely perfect. First off, the owners were so extremely welcoming and responsive from the very first day I contacted them. I was contacting them to set up a styled shoot at the venue as a photographer, but their approach is exactly how I'd like my wedding day to be approached- with such care, detail and flexibility.

If you're looking for a venue with the coolest industrial textured walls you've ever seen, a blank slate to do WHATEVER you want with, and an amazing staff, then you've found your

We loved having our wedding at Olio. Our florist told us about it and after visiting, we literally cancelled all our upcoming venue tours. This was where we were going to get married!

We wanted to have a space that would let us fully design everything, and there weren't a lot of options in the Boston area. This was the first place we found that had the start-from-scratch option, was stunningly beautiful, and fit our budget.

We had 100 guests in our wedding, but the space could have held much more. We wanted to have our ceremony and our reception in one place, so just flipped the room during

Having the opportunity to visit this venue for Peabody Pride event, I had a good time. Upon sitting down to write, there was a problem:

How the hell do you write a review on an event space? Considering there's outside catering, people running an event, and no in-house bar (but an outside service could be brought in) what is there to write about?

Well, the building itself carries an industrial feel with the concrete walls (apparently the first of it's kind when it was built in the early 1900's according to the website) with yet a rustic feel with the hardwood floors and high-vaulted

We had our wedding here one week ago and cannot say enough about Olio! And if you're looking for a venue on the North Shore this is THE spot! It is so BEAUTIFUL -and chic! And the owners Sarah and Ellen are so easy and wonderful to work with! They were so open to our ideas and let us tour when needed to make sure we weren't missing anything! I especially LOVED working and chatting with them the day of! I would recommend Olio to anyone and everyone! It is a blank canvas with the most beautiful interior so the sky is the limit!
