Our baked almond tart topped with seasonal fruit and finished with apricot glaze makes a perfect ending to any meal. Our fruit tart is composed of a rich pastry crust, sweet vanilla pastry cream filling, and an arrangement of colorful seasonal fresh fruits. I really wanted to like the items I purchased at Take The Cake. I bought chocolate biscotti with pistachios and a carrot cake. Neither my daughter nor I liked the biscotti. It was thick and soft and had a strange taste - not very chocolatey, but that could be a matter of preference on my part. I was more disappointed in the cake. The cake itself was OK, nothing special, but the frosting was terrible! It tasted like they used shortening instead of butter and there seemed to be no vanilla in it. I don't know if it was supposed to be cream cheese frosting, but if so, it wasn't anything like

Made an appointment for our cake tasting for our wedding 1 month ago. It was cancelled last minute. Gave them another shot, the day of our appointment we were told we were all set. We both took time off from work, drove 40 minutes from home to go to said appointment. In the car ride there the owner notified me she was not at the bakery due to her family being exposed to covid but there was staff at the bakery to help. Upon arrival we were not allowed in. Such an amazing family owned bakery right down the road of bill millers castle where we got married. They did such a beautiful job on our wedding cake and made it just the way we envisioned it! The cake was moist and the strawberries were extremely fresh! Everything they make always comes out beautiful! So happy they made our cake for our big day!

We used to adore Take the Cake, it was somewhere I would get a birthday cake from when I really wanted to impress with luscious flavors and exquisite craftsmanship. This last visit was not that in any way. I called to order my husband a birthday cake from there normal menu, the Grandmas Peanut Butter. It took me a few tries to get anyone to answer the phone, the hours posted online and on FB are no longer true. Their white chocolate mousse cake is divine, 5 stars. Went to buy a white chocolate mousse cake for Mother’s Day, wasn’t surprised they were sold out. The only flavors left were carrot cake and lemon coconut. The carrot cake was too sweet with thick icing, I usually like carrot cake. The upside is that everything was very fresh, there were boxes of carrots and other ingredients by the window ready to be made into cakes. I was so disappointed. I have been calling around some said they don’t make mango cake other said not in season. So I found this place, she guaranteed there is mango filling. So I was super excited. I called on Monday the 9th for a cake for my wife’s birthday, I told them I couldn’t pick it up until Saturday, picked it up, kept it in the fridge over night, cut into it on Sunday for my wife’s birthday, it was filled with MOLD! Not to mention the chocolate ganache on top as old and discolored. I was sold an OLD MOLDY cake for my wife’s birthday. I ordered a Cake on a Monday to be Picked up on That Saturday. The cake they gave me was obviously old, and was FILLED with MOLD. Instead of a sincere apology the owner blamed her freezer for having some issues, offered me a gift card(I'll never go there again) and a refund. My family had been customers for 15+ years, never again.

A cute family owned bakery with a hardworking staff. Everyone is super friendly and the desserts and so delicious!! If you’re a big carrot cake lover, I suggest trying that cake! They have a huge selection of cakes and small treats available that you can choose from in advance or if you’re planning a party last minute. They currently have a Covid friendly pick up window set up to ensure the safety of their employees and customers. Highly suggest getting your next cake from them and look at how delicious their linzertortes are!

I paid over $50 for a Sweet Sixteen Birthday cake that was supposed to have raspberries in it. What I received was a plain cake with zero decor on the cake, not even decorative borders on the cake edges, zero icing flowers, nothing but 'Happy Sweet Sixteen' and frosting on the cake - I kid you not! This cake is so plain it is a complete embarrassment for me ti give it to my daughters on their special day. I am mortified and now having to leave work early to decorate the cake myself, not to mention I I have to pay for decorative frosting. I had asked the girl who wrote down my order to sub strawberries

This family owned business is one full of high quality desserts and care. Our employees follow guidelines of wearing both masks and gloves while helping customers and handling desserts. Not only does she charge a fortune for a cake that my 6 year old could have made but she also has her husband and young daughter running around her shop with no masks on. I ordered cheesecakes for my wedding and Gina was absolutely fantastic to work with. Bonus - the cheesecakes were delicious! I can't stop thinking about how good it was, possibly best cheesecake I've ever had. Gina was flexible and worked with me to make my idea work within the food safety guidelines in place for COVID. The pies were pre-sliced and put in individual boxes and topped with a variety of tasty toppings. Did I mention how tasty?! Not so great . My thoughtful boyfriend bought a small $30 cake from them today, mediocre at best. I feel so bad that he spent that much money. Vanilla cake with buttercream icing..... questionable. Last birthday he bought an all chocolate cake from same place, it tasted stale. This is not a $30 cake bakery. Stop taking this much money from hard working people, this is not a gourmet bakery.

Gina, the owner of take the cake is absolutely amazing. First let me say that they are being super safe in this coronavirus era and I really appreciate it.
Second locals know her cakes are absolutely amazing. We love all that we've had over the years but our personal favorite is the German chocolate cake. It's absolutely delicious interior has a lovely surprise.
The shop is very accommodating, courteous, and professional. Our favorite and go to for birthday cakes And celebrations.

3. The Blueberry cake
If you don't want a whole cake, they also sell cookies and chocolate mousse cupcakes which are pretty great. The top frosting is a chunk of chocolate more or less and the inside is filled with a white cream center.
Not sure if they still do this, but the business also used to make everything fresh that day, donating any leftovers to the homeless

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I ordered a chocolate raspberry cake for my aunt's 50th birthday. I placed it on a Wednesday for pick up on Saturday. I was nervous it was too late but they accommodated. The cake was moist and the raspberry frosting was fresh and just made when I arrived. The flowers they added on the cake was a nice touch. THANK YOU!

I have used Take the Cake for many occasions and was never disappointed. The birthday cake I ordered today was a supreme disappointment. Evidently this bakery doesn't do well with special orders. My request was a vanilla cake with raspberry filling and butter cream frosting. When I went to pick it up, the sales girl knew instantly that my request was mixed up. Instead of raspberry filling, the raspberry was added to the frosting. Since this bakery boasts that no artificial coloring is ever used, the combination of the buttercream with raspberry created a rather sickening flesh color look

All of the choices will have you a little overwhelmed. Everything looks so good, but looks and taste are two different things. I opted for a slice of the lemon coconut cake to go. It was ok, but didn't taste fresh, and something was just a little weird with the flavor. Now looking back, I realize that you can't have so many choices of cake and have them all baked fresh daily.

The white chocolate mousse cake is amazing! The quality of ingredients truly spells delicious! The carrot cake has just the right amount of sweetness and is light. You can purchase bitesized cookies and individual cake slices to satisfy a craving. The bakery is very clean and the products are well presented at the front counter.
