My husband and I rented a slingshot for a day we returned in on time and in perfect condition. It had some dirt on the bumper and the personnel claimed it was damaged, we were charged almost $300 dollars. The guy who claimed the damaged was extremely rude to my husband after my husband told him we were extremely careful with the rental. He told my husband we had 2 options he can either charge for a new bumper (over $700) or the $300 we were charged. Horrible service, go somewhere else to rent ! We have use other rental services before and have never had problems.

Very rude and unprofessional attendant with a very negative and unhelpful attitude. Very rude and defensive when asked for a refund due to bad weather from an upcoming tropical storm. Before selling the tickets, they should clearly state, either in person or over the phone, that tickets are non-refundable under any circumstances.
Vehicles are also subpar quality compared to other business around town. Consume more gas than other golf carts, don't reach 35 mph as advertised, speakers are also not very loud (and you can read other reviews for some additional horror stories, i.e. how to get scammed

Consumers Beware! They will keep deposits for damage that doesn’t exist. I was docked $180 off of my deposit and when asked why, I was sent this picture (first picture). What....where?! No explanation....just… this picture.
Also, when we first walked out to the rented unit the passenger side floorboard was split. We immediately took a picture (second picture) and went in and grabbed one of the attendants. At first he said “What?! There’s damage?! There wasn’t before! When we showed him he said “oh yeah...I knew about that”. 🤷♀️

Absolutely awful experience. I was told the 6 seater Iceman Slingshot was only 2 weeks old, which according to their posts it’s over a month old. It left me and my family stranded on side the road for over an hour. It kept shifting really weird and it ran super hot. We ended up getting it to cool off enough to get it back to their place a little… after 9 pm the same night. Tried calling a few times and even left a voicemail. Rented the dune buggy that cost 370 for the night. Me and my friends went to dinner and came back to pick it up after the place had closed. Told them we had had a bad experience with rentals in the past and the woman assured me all their scooters and carts worked properly. The buggy did not shift into gears properly (it was an automatic). Parked the buggy at our hotel and took it back first thing in the morning to see if we could exchange it for something else. This place tried to scam me. I initially rented a scooter that was wobbly and the seat belts wouldn’t work, I returned it 10 mins after I rented it. I received another rental. I returned the second rental 3 hours later which was just as raggedy and back fired the entire time I drove it. When I returned the second one I was shown a busted caution sign on the initial rental and was accused of backing into something or a passenger kicking the sign. This supposed manager had accepted this initial rental back and did not observe any damage 3 hours earlier. This damage magically appeared after we left

Was Really Excited to Rent A Slingshot they only had Two the One we Got was Dirty And Noisy someone knock off the Exhaust but they acted like it was Made that way, some where during our ride I must had got to Close to a Curb and chip some paint off the Driver's Side wheel a little black on one of the Finns about the Size of a pencil head they Charge me 250.00 for Wheel Replacement And 90.00 labor. I Guarantee its still on there and not replaced. My wife and I rented a Slingshot( 3 wheeled bike) from this location today(Monday). Colleen of Calif. Cycle was great> we originally reserved for yesterday ( Sunday)but bike was not ready when we were. Colleen apologized and gave us extra time with the bike for free as compensation. Excellent service in our opinion and we'll be back here to rent again. A+ for her and bike was a blast to ride.

They will nickel and dime you for every single detail and charge you for brand new parts on every minor scuff.
I would give you advice for when you rent from here but just save yourself and stay far away from this place.
The young manager of this store is horrible and extremely dishonest.
These guys don't deserve any business
Charged me $561 for laying the bike down on the ground.

Me and five friends rented scooters at California cycles, in the course of our day we were waved down by an employee and asked to follow him to one of their locations. Without explanation we were told that we forfeited our $100.00 deposits for passing on the right side of the road, which we didnt do. They confiscated our scooters, and we walked back to our cars, which were parked at another California Cycles location. Do not rent from california cycles. They are in the business of scamming tourists. They know you're from out of town, so probably won't want to make the trip back to take them to court. They accused us of damaging a vehicle when we could prove that the damage was there when we left. They made us pay for a whole new part (plus labor) for a scuff that could have been easily fixed with over the counter products (let alone a scuff we did not cause).
