I stumbled upon Dr. Brian Rizzo after searching online looking for some guidance about therapy for a rare injury I had. I read about Dr. Rizzo and I learned about ART (active release techniques) which helps to restore soft tissue damage. It doesn't seem like very many doctors do ART so I felt very lucky to have found Dr. Rizzo since he does this special technique.
From the first appointment up until now (10 weeks into treatment) everything has been fantastic. I'm walking better, the pain is less, and I've learned a lot from Dr. Rizzo about the my body and what else is out of whack

Just went into see Dr. Rizzo for some serious shoulder pain, and after one session it is already feeling better. He really is a miracle worker. I had never heard of Active Release Therapy before and now I'm a believer - he's amazing. Two years ago he took care of my frozen shoulder, my bad lower back, and now my other injury. I'm a fan!

Brian is a miracle worker. I've seen him for multiple various injuries for ~10 years. He works wonders -- significantly reducing pain and drastically shortening recovery time. Most recently he worked on my mommy wrist and I'm once again able to hold my daughter for hours on end with little pain. He has also helped my mother, brother and father with various injuries over the years. He's an amazing chiropractor and such a wonderful person too.
He's the best -- look no further!

I've had the privilege of being both a patient and referral partner of Dr. Rizzo for almost two years now. He's a class act and world class health professional.
1) As a personal trainer, I've had a great success referring out to Brian. His clinical tools between ART and Anatomy in Motion go far beyond the scope of most other chiropractors. Whenever my clients go to him, they see great success every time.
2) As a strength athlete, I only trust a few people to really work on me. Brian knows how to move my body correctly every time so that I leave each session feeling better.

As a health care provider myself, I am super picky when it comes to selecting a new clinician to work with. Dr. Brian Rizzo DC has quickly become one of my favorite doctors ever. He was referred to me by one of the Emergency Medicine Attending physicians I used to work with when I was an ER trauma nurse at San Francisco General Hospital.
Let me tell you I was in a world of physical pain (three years of avoidance! yikes!) and super nervous about even getting started with "fixing" the problem - since I knew it was really going to hurt AND take some commitment.

Brain is the best! Before I saw him, I was in pain every day for around 7 years. My neck, back, shoulders were in a lot of pain and chronic head aches. Before I saw Brian I went to other chiropractors, physical therapy, a spine specialist, acupuncture, massage therapist and many other health practitioners. I felt I just wasn't getting the help and treatment I needed.
A few years back I started seeing Brian once a week. As I got better over time I would see him less and less. It is unbelievable how great I feel every day and how much my life has changed because of his treatments. Now

Brian is the best! I have a serious knee condition which flares up periodically, so every now and then I need some help with hip pain and tightness. I have been going to Brian for years now, and I really don't know what I would do without him. Sometimes I just check in every 3 or 4 months, sometimes I need to see him two or three times in a row, but he always addresses my issues efficiently and effectively.
Brian is incredibly knowledgable, he carefully explains what he is doing, and he provides me with lots of detail about what I can do differently at home and at work to help my symptoms

I came to see Brian on a referral from a friend who couldn't say enough great things about her sessions and how her overall health improved.
My neck had been bothering me for almost 2 years before I actually decided to do something about it. I had constant pain on the right side and a limited range of motion. I was also starting to get headaches.
My first visit with Brian was 1 hour long, during which he assessed my spine and range of motion before working on me.
Brian does a lot of A.R.T. Therapy that allows him to do more than the typical back/neck cracking. He was thorough in explaining

Two words describe Brian Rizzo, "Neck Whisperer." I woke up one day with a neck injury from a yoga class and couldn't move my neck. I crawled to the phone and yelped a chiropractor and Brian's name came up. I thought I would give it a try. The session was intense, but well worth it. I felt 75% better after the 1st session and now feel 100% again. Thanks Brian!

I came to Dr Rizzo with a weird kind of injury (torsion of my SI Joint - trust me it hurts as bad as it sounds). It was to the point I couldn't put on my socks and jolt of pain that I would get from stepping off a curb would freeze me in my tracks.
I had previously tried massage and another chiropractor for months with no relief. I am a runner and it got to the point I had to look for something else to help me. I spoke with one of my race directors and hands down recommended Active Release Therapy.
I picked Dr Rizzo based on all of the Yelp reviews and I have to agree with everyone&apos

5 stars for:
1) Prompt return of my phone call.
2) Flexible schedule. He made the next morning work to help me with an acute pain situation.
3) Complete Care: great combination of muscular/tissue work with adjustments. So far a big fan of his "active treatment methodology" (probably got the name wrong)
4) Didn't feel any pressure to sign on to a series of treatments to solve all that ails me.
5) Great communication throughout the treatment.
6) BONUS: he's funny!
Constructive: I wish he took my insurance or was in network, but he was 100% upfront about that on the telephone

What can I say that has not been said here already? Dr. Rizzo is a gifted individual. I came in on a referral and I am so glad I did. I was having chronic lower back pain that radiated into my pelvis, groin, and thighs. Too many years of skating, snowboarding, and poor posture had taken its toll. I worked with Dr. Rizzo weekly for about a month and then quickly tapered down the visits. His combo of ART and chiro restored my proper alignment. All the pain, stiffness and fatigue is greatly reduced and the effects have been lasting. When I do over do it or get complacent for too long about

Brian Rizzo is among the most competent medical providers I have had. His chiropractic specialization in Active Release Therapy (ART) is not a technique one would immediately associate with chiropractic medicine -- at least in my experience. From the point of view of the patient, ART is an intensive, muscle-specific method akin to massage -- sort of, but far more focused, more intricate, and extreme than any massage you have ever had; moreover, I find no relationship between my former chiropractic experiences and ART. This method is so intensive that I might be wary of subjecting myself to someone

This man is a spinal genius...after throwing my back out like an 80 year old woman more than once in the last year, I came to Brian in a real pickle...I had a huge athletic event in Southern California and I could barely bend over to wash my hands in the sink. After giving him a quick call, he not only fit me in ASAP, but he also made himself available to me outside of his normal office hours.
After multiple sessions, I was able to get through SoCal Tough Mudder and really only have Dr Rizzo to thank (besides my hours of training and awesome team that helped along the way...cough cough).
Cheers

I'll keep this short and simple. Dr Rizzo is the best. You want to talk about a great local business? This is it. Dr. Rizzo is knowledgeable, professional, really together and a genuinely great guy. He really knows what he is doing. I have seen many chiropractors over the years. He may be the best chiropractor I have worked with, because of his knowledge of soft tissue. His training is excellent and he communicated to me, a clear description of what he felt was going on and how best to treat it.
Complete thumbs up, I completely recommend him. Another yelp reviewer wrote that Do Rizzo has

OK so I have a completely destroyed knee (gymnastics at 16) and I am getting to the point where I am having trouble walking and biking. I was actually scheduled for a knee replacement because the xrays said i was in such bad shape. But the office PT said I should try to delay as long as possible because I am young. She suggested soft tissue/active release. I went to Brian and the results have been amazing.
He's agressive and works me but I am able to delay the knee surgery and increased my mobility. THAT IS HUGE.
I highly recommend. The guy is smart, skilled and honest.

Brian's great. He's smart, focused and really good at what he does. He explains everything in a clear, easy-to-understand way without resorting to that new-agey kind of speak that kind of drives me nutty. I'm still seeing him, and both the chiropractic care and active release therapy are showing real improvements.
I highly recommend him.

Dr. Brian is numero #1. I saw one other chiro in the city before coming to him. The other one made it sound as if I was a walking time bomb and basically was ready to drain my pocket and time for something that Dr. B was able to get back to normality in a matter of weeks. He is a genius and a master of his skill.
I am still seeing him and back to the activities I had placed on hold and I thank it all to Dr. Brian.
As a female, he is incredibly sensitive, patient and explains things with such care, that he makes one feel soo comfortable. I would recommend him to my fragile ill and scoliosis ridden

I'm not sure what I would have done without Brian after a recent motorcycle accident. I was left with difficulty walking and in serious pain. The Active Release Techniques Brian uses in conjunction with chiropractic techniques have not only helped to realign me, but to release the tension and trapped spots in the soft tissue around my pelvis. Not only has it helped, it has helped me heal very, very quickly!
Brian was also able to address some old, chronic trapped spots in my neck and back. I had been totally accustomed to them, but now my range of motion and comfort is so much greater!

Brian Rizzo changed my life. I've been seeing him on regular basis for over a year and have had profound changes in my health. I had gotten
used to the occasional stiff neck or back and low level aches, even as I
treat others for similar issues. Seeing Brian on regular basis has made all of that a thing of the past. Each week he works on whatever area of my body has the most tension. I leave feeling great, and haven't had a back or neck ache in a very long time.
Brian is pro's pro, if you want to feel better, younger, stronger, and pain-free go see him.
