Services
My name is Susan Davies MSW, LCSW and I have been working as a psycho-therapist since 1983. I specialize in suicide, homicide, accidental death and hospice related deaths. I have a private practice in Torrance, California. Grief is a part of our lives. We experience the pain of loss at the time of death.
Losses can be thought of as the loss of one's possessions, one's self, one's developmental losses, or one's significant others. Susan has a unique way to address these losses. Her training encompasses the principals and actions developed over the years. She uses this training to assist all who wish to help those with broken hearts retake a productive place in the mainstream of their lives.
A beautiful keepsake that families will treasure, After I'm Gone is a do-it-yourself Last Lecture for your loved ones, in the tradition of bestselling fill-in journals like All About Me. Coping with the loss of a loved one is always difficult, but some of the pain can be alleviated by understanding the final thoughts and wishes of the person who has passed.
Susan takes her job seriously, she states, I have a goal, my goal is to have all the knowledge and information and availability for my clients, so they can move on and face life prepared and strong. Through a loss one will come to see themselves in a new light, and may feel the strength and meaning of life before the loss.
Studies show that grief could lead to loss of appetite, depression, suicidal tendencies, and adverse physiological effects. Without the support from friends and family or professional help, people experiencing such extreme emotions are prone to such hazards. Fortunately, Grief Relief is here to help them cope with their situation with the grief therapy that we offer.

It had been 8 years since I'd spoken with a mental health professional before I decided to re-commit myself to treatment. When I came to Susan, I was feeling aimless and uninspired with myself, asked me on my very first visit what, specifically, I wanted in life. I told her I wanted to move to a different state and start fresh. She asked me how soon I would like that to happen and I told her 18 months.
18 months later, I built up the nerve to get in my car and just go. It was the best decision I've ever made. I'm happier, not distracted and still do weekly phone sessions.

Having Susan as a counselor has been so rewarding. It is always a joy to see her. Sometimes even with no dire issues to deal with presently, simply talking to her helps us put our lives into perspective…like getting a second opinion on thoughts or ideas we’ve been contemplating. And when there are problems or obstacles to overcome, she is such a great guide without directly telling you what to do. She helps us see things in a more non-insular way which really helps put things into perspective, making it easier for us to make smarter decisions to better ourselves. I’m so glad she’s in our

Really positive experience here. She extremely experienced and is clearly an expert in treating what I needed help with. She took the time to clearly explain what I was going through in understandable terms, helped me to have realistic expectations for the therapy process, and walked me through the process. I now have so many tools to deal with things more effectively. I’m happy to say that I am doing better than I have done in awhile. I wouldn’t hesitate to refer her to others.

Susan Davies is a joy. She is an compassionate therapist (with a whimsical sense of style) who genuinely cares about your well being. She helps you get down to the true roots to any underlying issues that you may be struggling with, but does so in a way that is not condescending. She tells you what you need to hear, in a way that resonates, and from a place of empathy. She is very easy to talk to, and her office makes you feel like you are chatting with a good friend in their living room.

Susan D has been an absolute angel in guiding me through the process! With her kind words and patience I was able to easily navigate the new patient process. She went above and beyond to answer any question I had and made it into a pleasurable experience. Unlike other therapists that have shut me down or treated me like a day-to-day person, Susan has given me an impact that not all Therapists are filled with "robot people"

To start off; woman is an absolute treasure. Her office is brimming with a tranquility and whimsy with cozy furniture and extremely plush couches. Susan herself is extremely insightful and tells it to ya straight. I was afraid to look into therapy before but nowadays I admit I look forward to the sessions. Not only does it feel like chatting with an old friend but she also gives you tools and advice on how to practice working through whatever may arise day to day. I truly do find myself more at ease since starting sessions with her and would encourage anyone with similar trepidations towards therapy

Susan is a true testament to what the practice entails. She is professional, organized and thorough. She is an effective communicator and great listener while allowing room for one to express themselves comfortably. Susan has been a blessing in my life . She is flexible with her schedule and communicates when there is closer availability if this is something you are open too. From the greeting to the conclusion of the session, it is all-around perfection. Through difficult moments, Susan always has a way of making sure you cracked a smile before ending the session. I can personally say that there
