Here at Maryland Wood Countertops/OE Custom we practice in the process of Urban Logging. We work very closely with local tree companies, governments and land owners to put trees that would normally be placed in a waste stream to good use(countertops and furniture). Urban logs are trees that are not of a certain caliber normally sent to a conventional mill.

Top notch service and top notch craftsmanship!
Having recently had to endure a terrible 4 month ordeal with another company it was refreshing to deal with a proper company! Very professional and thorough (and local to boot!).
True to thier word and to the proposed schedule which we all know in these times is a pretty miraculous feet in itself!
The finished product was fantastic, exceeded my expectations (truly worth every penny!) and I know that I and all that see it will enjoy it for years to come. Thanks very much to all who were involved and keep cranking out client service/finished products

OE Custom & Maryland Wood Countertops is a woodshop in a class all its own! They have created a very unique and sustainable business model by reclaiming locally felled trees otherwise destine for the mulch pile and transforms them into beautiful furniture and countertops. They’re ability to saw, kiln dry, and fabricate with expert craftsmanship really sets them apart from the competition. As a professional furniture designer with nearly two decades of experience I can honestly say the team at OE Custom and Maryland Wood Countertops is one of the best woodshops and sawmills in the country!

Awesome service! The guys at OE Custom were super welcoming when we first came to them about making a table for us. My wife and I were given a impromptu tour by the owner when we came to visit and inquire about a table. He was EXTREMELY informative about the process of making our table and he described the variety of wood we had to chose from in detail so that we could make an informed decision that would help our vision become a reality. The artistry and care they put behind the table they made for us was well worth the price. Could not recommend these guys enough!

I can't recommend Paul, Chris and the whole team at OE enough. I came to them right before the pandemic for a custom top for our island in a reclaimed oak. Even with the shut down and unknown elements of if their business would be able to function at the same pace, they came through with the slab on time for our renovation. And it's stunning! I was worried (and so was my husband) that wood wouldn't be the best choice for our family of 5 with young kids, but it is holding up beautifully and suits our house in the woods in a unique way. It is the center of our home <3 Thanks OE!!

As we worked with a contractor to design our basement bar, we knew that we wanted the actual bar-top to be something special. Our designer pointed us to OE Custom, and we're glad she did. From the moment we met with Paul in the showroom, all the way up to installation, they treated us with top-notch customer service. They meticulously measured and provided design feedback before going to work on cutting everything we needed. The installation was done perfectly. We couldn't be happier with our countertops, floating shelves, and--most importantly--the beautiful live-edge black
