Leslie, an enthusiast for all forms of movement, has always been involved in fitness, such as tennis, boxing, snowboarding, and yoga. Her search for greater flexibility and strength led her to Pilates in 2004. Kim has been teaching for almost 10 years, and loves Pilates more than when she started. She trained at Pilates Seattle International, and is certified through Romana's Pilates.
Kim genuinely believes Pilates is good for everyone, regardless of age or physical fitness. Her workouts are tailored to the client in front of her whether it be working around an injury or training an elite athlete. She also enjoys being the student herself. Taking lessons and keeping up on continuing education are top priorities.

Joseph Pilates developed his method back in the early 1900's and called it "the Art of Contrology" - using the mind to control the muscles. The exercises focus on developing the "core" muscle groups of the abdomen, back and buttocks - the powerhouse. Some of the main benefits of doing Pilates exercises are that you will become stronger, longer, leaner and able to do anything with more grace and ease.

I had my first pilates experience yesterday. I felt welcomed the moment I walked into the studio by Carmela. It was pretty easy to pick me out because I was the only guy but at no stage did I feel that way. Quite honestly, I was also so busy with the routine that the time flew by.
Carmela took me thru the basics and helped me understand what I needed to do for each exercise. For those who have never tried pilates, please try it. Leslie is amazing! She takes the time to make sure that I am comfortable not in pain and learning some thing. I real appreciate the step-by-step and thoughtful way she approaches instruction. The facility has lots of space and plenty of machines and room to keep us safe social distance.

I am so impressed by this studio! The instructors are wonderful and incredibly knowledgable. The studio is beautiful, clean and has top of the line Gratz equipment. Leslie, the owner, is a sweetheart and has done a wonderful job with the studio. If you are looking for traditional classical Pilates with professional and highly educated instructors, then I recommend you try out Mercer Island Pilates.
