Hot coffee, warm smiles, apple pie a la mode-it's all part of the classic American diner, and that's exactly what you'll find at Home Sweet Home Cafe. Though we're located in an industrial park in Escondido, don't judge a book by its cover. Come inside, grab a seat at our counter or gather your family around a table, and make yourself at home.
Here at Home Sweet Home Cafe, we serve authentic American diner fare for breakfast and lunch. Come in for morning favorites like biscuits and gravy or a short stack, or join us midday for a patty melt or club sandwich. We've got dishes with a San Diego twist, too, from our Baja omelet to the California version of the BLT (add avocado!).

Services
Served with Home Fries or Hash Browns and your choice of Toast, Biscuit or English Muffin. Cajun Sausage or Ham, Home Fries or Hash Browns, Onions, Bell Peppers, Cheddar Cheese & 2 Eggs on Top. Bacon & Sausage, Home Fries or Hash Browns, Onions, Bell Peppers, Cheddar Cheese, Country Gravy & 2 Eggs on Top.
How in the world did we find this place? It's in the middle of an industrial park in Escondido. Makes sense though considering how many businesses and automotive dealerships there are in the area. Hands down one of the best breakfast places in all of North San Diego County, no kidding! It just doesn't get any better than this, seriously.

My wife and I had a late breakfast at Home Sweet Home restaurant in Escondido. We split a Western omelette. The plate came with hash browns and an English muffin. I added a blueberry muffin. The meal was tasty and filling. The staff was friendly and prices are reasonable. Very popular restaurant with limited parking. We parked down the street. It was worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The service was excellent. There was allot of parking this time around. We have tried to go here 3 other times and could not find parking. We got sat almost right away. My wife got asked for coffee refills 2-4 times. I also got asked to refill my ice tea. Everyone had a smile and was very pleasant. My huavos rancheros we're excellent. My wife and I ordered the half order of the biscuits and gravy. My only criticism would be the gravy needs to slightly hotter temperature and the sausage need to be a tiny bit spicy.

We love this place for breakfast. The food is good and the service is friendly. They all chip in to make sure your visit is a great one.
Their Benedict's are always great. Pancakes are crisp, fluffy, and slightly sweet. They are super helpful with ordering when you're on the fence on something.
Parking and the wait can get a little crazy after 10am on the weekends but it's worth it. Get there early on weekends. There may be some businesses you can park in front of since they're closed on the weekends.

This is such a surprise little hole in the wall restaurant in the very middle of an industrial area... but you can tell when a restaurant is awesome due the line of locals standing outside waiting for a table...their food was awesome..hot and fresh. I had the bacon avocado and cheese omelet and can't praise it enough it was so delicious...the service was spot on and you can't go wrong with this little jewel...

Great place off the beaten path to stop and get a home style breakfast. This place has all the classics. Loved the big fluffy pancakes, breakfast burrito, hash skillets, and big omelets. Portions are big and prices are great! This is not a "fresh pressed" juice place or stop for a latte, they just have regular coffee, but everyone gets a different fun mug. Turnover is fast,, good service, and you get your food quick. Place is on the smaller side, so usually a small wait, but grab a seat at the bar if there's one open.

Picked this spot as they had pretty good ratings and on our way to Belmont Park.
Upon sitting down, the waitress said our daughters could go pick a gift under the Christmas tree. It was such a treat for my kids, they loved it!
I shared the order of french toast with sausages with my daughter. Good portion but I'd say a little dry for me, even with butter and syrup.
My husband ordered the breakfast burrito which came with TWO! It was your usual eggs, potatoes and sausages inside but the salsa, guacamole and sour cream added the flavor. I actually liked it over my order but definitely

Loved it! It was mine and my boyfriend's first time here, and we have been living in Escondido ever since kids. We should've tried sooner! Their chicken fried steak was AMAZING and the gravy was sooo delicious. My boyfriend got the french toast and eggs and also liked that. Servers were super friendly, and i love the coffee mugs they give us. Everything about it is so homey and comfy :) Great experience overall and next time I'd try the biscuits and gravy or an omelette!

First time here & what a great experience.
Our friend picked HSH as our monthly Bikes & Brunch location.
She did call the day before to notify staff of our group size & I walked in an hour early to give a friendly reminder.
Since we rode our motorcycles here, there is tons of off street parking, since this location is in an industrial part of Escondido. With that said, Home Sweet Home is the only business open on a Sunday along Enterprise St.
Our group of 14 were allocated to do separate checks. Which you MUST notify your server before ordering.
I got the corned beef plate. Picked

Thank you, Yelp once again for finding this hidden gem. Seriously, I would have never found this on my own.
The cafe is located in an industrial part of the city, and blends in with what looks like a car repair / restoration shop and some industrial shop. Parking can be a bit tricky, as multiple shops share parking.
We came on a Saturday at 8:00 and since we didn't mind eating at the counter, we waited a few minutes.
They're known for the sausage and biscuits, but I was hankering between pork chops and ham steak. The waitress suggested the latter and it was a hunk of a ham steak

This place is amazing!!! Home Sweet Home is the perfect name. It is a home feeling to come in and be created with a warm smile and greeting. You feel like family here. I thought we were lost at first but ......you know what they say about finding the hole in the wall or the diamond in the rough... this is it! The food was delicious, flavorful, and filling. Made with love for sure. I celebrated my birthday here with my girls. Thank you for making my day special.

Loved this spot! My fiancé and I wanted to stop by a diner for breakfast on our way out of town to an appointment. We were able to call our order in in advance and they had us set up at a table as soon as we walked in! We shared the corned beef hash Benedict (or the "Devon" Benedict in their online menu), had an orange juice and a coffee. All of the above were so good! The people were great, and atmosphere is definitely a classic diner feel so would recommend!
The only downside is the parking. honestly- they have a whole parking area right next door but it must be shared with some

Visited this restaurant during a recent trip to Escondido to see my son in the Navy. I chose this after reading other reviews. When I first arrived, there was no parking to be had. Its in an industrial area. I drove down the street looking for other parking and there was no other place to park. I turned around and was going to locate another place to eat, but saw a vehicle that had just pulled out of their parking lot. We were immediately greeted and advised we could pick any open table we wanted. The wait staff was super friendly and fast. I had read another review that the biscuits and gravy

"Hidden Gem", "tucked away", "hidden nook"- yeah best to pay special attention to these words. Your literally questioning yourself as your driving here, asking yourself if the address is correct. But if you follow your maps to its end you'll find this homely, little restaurant- in a humble setting. You like "home cooked" meals that your momma used to serve you (or still does haha) but mommas not home? Come here, you can-not go wrong. We had the Huevos Rancheros and I, the Chicken Fried Steak. I'll tell ya, that home made gravy's a-mazing.

I remember visiting The Sun Cafe when I was able to walk. Working people filled the booths and counter. There was the sense of history there. The cafe first opened in 1925. My parents' friends the Jeong family took it over in 1962. They let us look around the kitchen and offered us a meal whenever my parents had time to visit. I loved visiting and eating cafe food. Sadly The Sun Cafe closed in 2008 as the family retired. There aren't many of these old cafes left. Luckily Maggie found Home Sweet Home Cafe.
When I was a kid I loved going shopping with my mom. We walked everywhere

Cute little brunch place located in the industrial area. We did outdoor dining out with Yelpers Maggie and Soo as they recommended we try this place. While waiting for them to arrive, I knew our choice was settled on the Chicken Fried Steak with Eggs. Chicken Fried Steak entailed the 8oz Cube Steak Covered with Country Gravy, 2 Eggs, Potatoes and Toast. Got our eggs scrambled along with hashbrowns. The hashbrowns are the ones that are fried crisply on the top and bottom. The Country Fried Steak listed on the 'Specials' also caught my eye, but upon consulting with the waitress she confirmed

I ended up here by Googling breakfast places and I couldn’t be more happy to found this amazing restaurant.
Fell in love with this location thanks to the friendly staff, the absolutely delicious food, and even the small details like the coffee cups (every cup is different, just like home).
This taste like American breakfast, with some eggs and bacon on the side, with a toasted bun with butter and American cheese.
If you’re searching a place with a good breakfast, this is your spot, prices are very reasonable and the food quality is impressive. My new favorite local spot.
