Jaswell's Farm
Started by Nicholas Jaswell (Nicola Gesualdi) in 1899, after he emigrated from Italy in the 1890's. In the 1930's Nicholas passed the farm to his son Joe. Joe ran the farm with the help of his son, primarily selling his harvest to the farmer's market in Providence. In 1967, Joe's son Richard took over with his wife Pat.

This was the beginning of the Jaswell's Farm that we know and love today. Richard and Pat opted to concentrate on selling their produce direct to their customers. They constructed our first farmstand and started offering pick your own on many products. Over the years, they diversified their offerings including adding a cider mill in 1970.
Services
Our mouthwatering recipes were handed down from generation to generation and are now yours to try! Enjoy. Welcome to Jaswell's Farm located in the heart of "apple valley" in the beautiful and historic town of Smithfield, Rhode Island. Jaswell's Farm is the oldest operating apple orchard in Smithfield and currently being run by the fourth generation of the Jaswell Family.
Early on, Chris Jaswell was an entrepreneur. At the ripe old age of 12, he saw a demand for candy apples so he started making them on his parents' stove. Many years (we won't say how many!) later, that endeavor has transcended into a product line that has taken on a life of its own. Each one of our candy apples is made by hand with the finest quality ingredients.
Qualified businesses can request wholesale pricing on most of the products we have available. The most popular items are our fresh produce and our fresh pressed apple cider. Our cider is available by the gallon; gallon; pint and pint. Many of our specialty items like our gourmet apples and fruit and gourmet baskets make terrific gift items for clients and staff alike.
As we start off the 2021 season, we have to say a profound THANK YOU to all of you for your support this winter! It has been challenging, but we are so appreciative for our amazing team and our amazing customers! We have been excited to remain open ALL winter and sincerely appreciate those who have come out WEEK after WEEK and supported us!

We had such a fun day picking apples and enjoying being outside, what a beautiful place to pick apples for the first time. The place was easy to find with good signage and plenty of parking. There was someone taking payment and giving direction at the entrance and another person directing people further down the line. At the time and in season they farm pumpkins , sunflowers for picking and about 3 types of apples. We opted for a small bag of apples which was $20. It was the perfect size to give half a dozen apples away and make a yummy apple crisp. There were enough apples to have left over, for

Wanting to try a new place for cider and cider donuts, we opted to give Jaswell's a try. The cider was fresh and cold, and the donuts were sweet and delicious! Everything was outside, so we felt very comfortable, even though there was a bit of a crowd.

We went in the fall, and they had pumpkin picking going on in the pumpkin patch, not to mention apples galore for sale as well. If you are lucky, you can get a nice parking spot in their lot. Otherwise, there is plenty of roadside parking along my their farm.

We were very pleased with everything that they offered, and can't wait to go

My first time apple picking and the farm was beautiful. Very well organized and well kept. Everyone was friendly and helpful. It wasn’t too busy on a Saturday, we made a reservation but didn’t really need to. For $20, we picked enough apples to bake 2 crumbles, give half a dozen to family and eat them through the week. What a fun day, thanks, Jaswell’s!

Went here as everyone was raving about the Apple Cider donuts. When we got here we saw them packaged up for $7 for 6. These taste like an old fashioned donut dipped in cinnamon sugar. No Apple or Apple Cider taste whatsoever. Wouldn't recommend them for the price or drive.

I love apple cider donuts and always drag my husband apple picking every year so this year we settled on jaswell's farm. We made reservations in advance online which was easy to do. They require you to buy a bag of apples when you do so you have to put your money where your mouth is! We only made our reservation a couple of days before arriving and there were still plenty of spots left. It looked like you could also walk in day of but it was easier with a reservation.

Then you are pretty much free to pick. When we went they had three varieties of apples and although some trees were picked

Excellent place to come to for your pumpkins…white pumpkins were beyond the orange ones. Sunflower field, apple orchards and couldn’t resist the baked goods…great apple cider donuts, sold by the bakers dozen.

Very easy picking! Everything is well marked and there’s plenty of staff to guide you. Haven’t picked in years so I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was. Of course, no apple picking is complete without buying baked goods. I bought an apple pie still warm from the oven. And the apple cider doughnuts were to die for!

Very nice little farm stand. You really have to know where you are going to find it, as there are no signs in the neighborhood for it. My aunt used to take her children there 30 or 40 years ago and she said it had been a few years since she had been back.

We got a pint of cider, a half-dozen apple cider donuts, and I bought a caramel apple as well. I just ate the caramel apple tonight and it was delicious; a little pricey, at $4.50, but tasty. I'm spoiled when it comes to donuts, as I live in Michigan and we have plenty of cider mills there, and I thought these were okay. Cider itself was

This is a nice local farm. Their apple cider donuts are the best I have ever tried and I have tried many and from 3 different states. They also offer different pickem yourself options in the fall. They have a small store where they sell their produce and desserts. My family loves the cider.

Fun place to check out :) Here are my thoughts....

PROS
-Ordered the apple cider donuts and indeed, there are as yummy as everyone says they are
-Tried a chocolate covered caramel apple which was pretty tasty and well made
-Jaswell's Farm has plenty of parking so even if it gets crowded, you can still manage to find a spot
-Pumpkin patch is beautiful and extensive, macintosh apples are perfectly crips and tart

CONS
-Apple picking and pumpkin "picking" is a bit more pricey than other places I've been to so we just ended up grabbing a bag of their apples instead
-There always

Took my 9 year old, 13 year old and 19 year old apple picking and to the pumpkin patch. The time we spent together picking apples and subsequent time baking is well worth the money we spent.

Such a beautiful experience with the family. We chose a perfect day with amazing weather. To be able to get yourself a spot for Apple/pumpkin picking, your have to go on their website and reserve a time slot. The process is fast and easy and it assures you a secure spot rather than waiting in line. After the Apple and pumpkin picking we stood in line for some Apple cider donuts which were absolutely amazing. Not too sweet and not too dry, my family and I definitely enjoyed them. The only reason why I didn't give Jaswells a solid 5 stars is because we were only allowed to pick 2 types of apples

Huge, expansive pumpkin patch. Although I thought the individual pumpkins were a bit overpriced at $5 for small pumpkins and $10 for large pumpkins, the whole patch experience was very enjoyable and the selection of pumpkins was so vast. I spent at least 45 minutes walking around, taking photos and selecting the perfect pumpkins. There were not a ton of people in the patch and there was a lot of room to social distance. I did not have such a great experience waiting in line to order cider donuts and cider. There were no markers set up for social distancing although most everyone was wearing masks

We had a flawless apple picking experience during COVID. They are very organized and ask that people reserve a time slot in advance online. You must pay for at least a peck in order to hold your spot. This makes arrival and getting to the picking totally seamless. Delicious apples, trees loaded with fruit, and super friendly staff. We love coming here. The apple cider donuts are unreal! You can't go into the farm store but they have tables set up outside, so you can get your baked goods, cider, and other goodies. If you're more organized, you can order ahead online and pick up on your

I went here for the first time to get sweet corn after seeing reviews on NextDoor Digest. I bought some corn muffins once I went online and saw that they were available. Best corn muffins I have ever had in my life. Service was excellent. Will become regular customer.
And the sweet corn was EXCELLENT!

$4 for donut ice cream sandwich which was kinda stale. It was a cute farm but nothing super special. There wasn't anywhere to sit outside (only a few tables and they were packed). I also had the blueberry lemonade which was good but overpriced too.

Had a blast at Jaswell's Farm! A classmate recommended it so I decided to bring out some family friends who were visiting from the West Coast. The staff recommend calling ahead the day of if you plan to go apple picking (just in case the picking season has concluded or there is inclement weather). There are about 10 rows of apple trees and we had lots of fun picking from the two varieties in season. Unlike Knight Farm in Scituate, there was plenty of fruit to pick at different heights! After we were done picking apples, we went inside, where I got a small pumpkin and half a dozen apple cider

I only went for apple picking so I can't speak to the rest of the farm. I was slightly disappointed with the size of the apple trees. I was expecting more. They have a variety of apple trees. The Honeycrisp apples were perfect for apple crisp. It's a little pricey $2.99 a pound.

I've been coming here every year the past 3 years for Apple picking. I usually come here around October but headed there earlier this year. I looked online and their FB page said it was open for Apple picking but when I went today, they only had their side Orchard open and not the main orchard. They only had Macintosh and Gala apples available today! Although the options were limited, the apples are still delicious! I remember the price being much cheaper during the high season, today we picked 10 apples and it was $10.

I needed 5 dozen cider donuts and 6 Gallons of cider for an event so I called to check on prices. The lady that answered was so nice and gave me all my options and prices. She offered to hold everything ready for me and took down my name and number. I arrived a few hours later and she was there, ready with my order and even gave me a cart to use to make the transport to my car that much easier.

Everything was delicious and all the attendees at my event that night, felt extra special since everything came directly from the farm.

It wouldn't be fall in New England without apple picking! I visited Jaswell's the other day and there were two varieties of apples available for pick-your-own: Honeycrisp and (I think?) Macintosh. The price for PYO was $2.50 per pound, which is a great price for Honeycrisp but a little overpriced for Macintosh. But the apples were so fresh and delicious, it was worth paying a little extra! They were perfect for both baking and eating. They DO take credit cards ($5 min) for pick-your-own, which was unexpectedly convenient!

One of the reasons I decided to come to Jaswell's instead

Fun time here in mid-Oct. The apples are almost all picked out but still had a good time. I recommend coming here earlier in the month or in Sept for apples. There were plenty of pumpkins to choose from and there were sunflowers as well. There's a food stand and fruits / pies in the indoors store. Apples were $2.50/lb which isn't unreasonable.

I'll come back next year but will shoot for Sept
