Without the PRP that ONLY River Canine Rehab offers, I would have had to put down Molly this year. We are so grateful for the expertise, care and compassion River Canine Rehab offers in our local area. It is an honor to have a chance to share our praise and recommendation for River Canine Rehabilitation!

Services
Rehab sessions generally last 45 minutes. During this time, we have the patient do a variety of activities as well as pain relieving techniques if needed. We prefer for the pet owner to NOT be in the room during the sessions as this is distracting to the pets in the gym. We need the pet to focus on us to get as much out of their session as possible!
Pets can suffer neurologic disease or injury of the brain, spinal cord or even stroke. This can lead to a loss of function, which depending on severity of disease, results in a variety of problems such as weakness, loss of sensation, vision loss, balance problems, incontinence, and inability to walk.
As our pets age, they can begin to develop conditions that can interfere with their mobility and enjoyment of daily activities. This can lead to further muscle loss and weakness. The combination of pain, muscle loss and weakness lead to a downward spiral of the patient's quality of life. Our goal is to keep your senior pet happy, comfortable and functional so that you can spend as much quality time with them as you can.
There is potential in all dogs and cats for injury. Certain breeds and pet lifestyle will increase those risks. We help patients that have suffered injuries that were repaired surgically heal faster and more efficiently. We focus on treating the area of injury, but also any compensatory pain your pet may be experiencing from shifting weight away from the surgical site.
If you have a pet that has a hard time getting enough exercise at home and needs to lose a few pounds - we can help! We can take appropriate steps with diet and exercise to help your pet reach the desired goal weight. We will design an in-gym and at home exercise program for your pet. We will also formulate a diet plan based on your pet's current and goal weight.

Dr. Kara has been extremely patient and caring with my dog. She took the time to understand my concerns and his issue. He was originally misdiagnosed by another vet and I think the only reason my dog is doing better is because she took the time to do a thorough examination. My dog is doing so much better. His pain is gone and his demeanor is back to normal. All the staff is super helpful and attentive.

Our dog Muppet now has a much improved quality of life thanks to acupuncture administered by Dr. Kara and cold laser therapy administered by Jeanne. When Muppet first visited River Canine, his mobility was severely limited and we did not know if Muppet would be able to carry on much longer. Fast forward a couple of months, and Muppet is now able to go on walks, can go fishing in the boat, and it is obvious his pain has diminished. The squirrels in the yard are not as happy about this as we are, as Muppet can run again, if so motivated. The neighbors have noticed a marked improvement when Muppet

There are no words to express how much we LOVE everyone at River Canine Rehabilitation Clinic. Dr Kara is amazing and is extremely knowledgeable. Jeannie is always so helpful and friendly. Linda and Rachel in rehab are kind , patient and are miracle workers at physical therapy. Our dog Boji went from being paralyzed in his back legs to running again! Dr Kara and the team suggested acupuncture and physical therapy for our old man Kaine who has arthritis in his spine and legs. Within a few weeks he is now taking less medicine and walking around so much better. You are welcomed by the front desk staff
