My three brothers and I were born in Virginia and spent our youngest years. Even after we moved up north, we continued to travel down south to spend many an afternoon on picnics with my Mother Bette's eccentric Southern relatives.
Virginia, our great grandmother known as "Momma", Ruby or "Bucky", our grandmother, and her sisters Aunt Anne, Aunt Myrtle, Aunt Sadie, and Aunt Bert were sometimes goofy to us as small children, but Oh Lord could these women cook!

Dixie Picnic is growing all the time, bringing career opportunities in many areas of the business. Whether it is for a career track position or an entry level part time weekend position, we are always looking for talented, hard-working individuals who find joy in seeing their co-workers and customers smile and take great pride in putting a pinch of sunshine in every interaction.
Aunt Anne could never convince Jack to eat anything other than two eggs, two pieces of applewood smoked bacon or sausage, artisan toast, and home fries. Paper thin slices of salty Smithfield country ham and cheddar cheese on a hot homemade biscuit. Served with a side of honey mustard. Bucky knew her rich sausage gravy on a homemade biscuit could get a man to tackle any chore (sometimes even for free!).
Our box lunches come either in boxes like we serve at the restaurant, or on trays with each component (sides, sandwiches, etc) on a separate tray. Your choice of cole slaw, potato, pasta, or fruit salad, a deviled egg, an Upcake, and bottled water. Real roast turkey breast, stuffing, whole berry cranberry sauce, and mayo on a homemade Sally Lunn roll.
Restaurants used to be local establishments, frequently run by Mom and Pop, that would serve their variation of a classic or come up with their own recipes to wow their guests with amazing flavors. Nowadays, many restaurants do not cook their own food. They simply purchase pre-made, frozen foods from a distributor, microwave it, and throw it on a plate.

Dixie Picnic has done an amazing service to the Malvern community by offering their bread flour and sourdough starter for such a reasonable price. The instructions provided were incredibly detailed and the… bread that resulted was some of the best I’ve had. The texture is phenomenal and I never would have been able to master this without the detailed instructions. Thank you so much! ❤️❤️

I just finished the most delicious BLT sandwich I've had in years. The bacon was perfectly crisp and flavorful - just the way I like! I'd intended to only eat half and save the other half for dinner tonight, but after one bite I knew that wasn't going to happen. :) Thank you for serving up amazing lunch choices at amazing prices!
