A Place For Me Counseling
As the owner and therapist at A Place For Me Counseling, located in the heart of LIttle FIve Points, I have worked with hundreds of clients from different cultural backgrounds and various mental health issues. My work revolves around meeting my clients where they are in a friendly, therapeutic and inclusive environment.

My approach is similar to that of a vehicle that allows the passenger to journey through their insecurities, fear, shame, anger and sadness. Now, imagine the vehicle coming to a stop, allowing you to emerge stronger, more confident, resilient and able to face the world. Individual treatment is often termed as psychotherapy, and is meant to help people with their emotional issues, which can range in order of their severity or intensity.
Services
I am an Atlanta based Psychotherapist. I was born in the Caribbean and and raised in New York City. I have a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling, I am a National Certified Counselor(NCC) and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist(CCH). I have experience working in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including private practice, hospitals, local agencies and schools.
Individual treatment is often termed as psychotherapy, and is meant to help people with their emotional issues, which can range in order of their severity or intensity. Whether it is the problem of repressed childhood that you are facing, or an emotional breakdown due to divorce, failure or loss of a loved one, a professional psychologist can help you revive your mental health through systematic counselling.
Couples therapy is similar to family therapy but concentrates on the one-to-one relationship of the couple. Our Western culture teaches us that independence is of great value and that we should not need others to thrive. However, when couples practice "you and me" rather than on "us" in a committed relationship, the couple tends to have more of an emotional disconnection.
Family therapy is a form of counseling which specializes in treating family relationships. Our counselors can work with every combination of family relationship (whole families or couples, parents with children or individual members) to assist a family to function in more comfortable and useful ways.
This is an open group that will focus on guiding individuals through activities that will help them assess the dynamics of their interpersonal relationships. Through exploration and practice individuals will learn coping strategies and will be provided with tools to appropriately navigate feelings of anger.

They helped my child get through some very tough times using play therapy and family therapy. They taught me how to handle issues to calm him instead of me just screaming with frustration. I'm so appreciative of everything They did for our family.

Wouldn't go there if you are truly in need of counseling. I have tried twice to get an appointment and was pretty much ignored both times. Thanks, but no thanks.

The therapist, Ms. Erlese Caruth, is warm and knowledgeable. I feel at ease with her. She made it easy for me to talk to her and I was extremely comfortable with her.

Avoid this place at all costs. i tried to go here for help during a really, really dark time in my life in late 2017. it had already been difficult to get help so when i finally found the courage and the energy to do so, i was excited and i expected care. but this place made the process of getting help that much more difficult and scary. they never answer the phone, even when they're supposed to be open and answering phones (i had to call 8x one day and they still never answered, never returned my calls despite my leaving voicemails. i had to call again days later and upon having a conversation
