Ron read an article in the Bellingham Herald that the local cab company refused to pick up a fare with a service dog, and began City Cab with one cab and a dispatch center in a friends kitchen. City Cab became Yellow Cab, and yes, we happily transport dogs. We go further than that - Yellow Cab is a long time supporter and friend to the Whatcom Humane Society.
Yellow Cab has it wheels firmly planted in, and cares about, the local community. We work with every social service agency, hotel, hospital, grocery store, casino, etc. in the two county area. Called for a cab. They said they'd call me with an ETA. Half hour later I see the cab in front of my unit. Run out there flagging him hoping he sees me in his rear view mirror while he's waiting to exit the complex. No luck. Call this dispatcher and tell her I can still see him, tell him to turn around and get me. She days she can't do that. Said they would be there in 15 minutes. never showed. after 45 min i called now worried that I will miss my flight. said they couldnt come and then had the absolute GALL to complain about uber taking their jobs. if you actually DO your job it won't get taken. pretended that they didn't know uber was in contract dispute with airport and told me tontake a uber. thats how poorly they run their business.

We used the on demand taxi to go from the airport to our hotel (about 3 miles away). From the outside the van looked fine but inside it was a mess. There was trash on the ground and cardboard between the front seats and the middle seats. The driver was ok. He was using his phone as a walkie-talkie to communicate with other employees. He had food in his beard. He was somewhat wreckless when driving (almost turned in front of oncoming traffic but slammed on the breaks just in time). I called two mornings in a row, not thinking they would be busy at 5am on a Sunday morning. I was surprised. Four different companies were busy with wait times of 30 - 40 minutes, but Yellow Cab thru in 20. The driver went out of his way to open my door, assist with my luggage, and calm my nerves en route to Bellingham International Airport, where things went downhill quickly. I will always call them in the future and definitely appreciated the drivers efforts.

I've used Yellow Cab regularly for years in various states w/minimal issues. Regretfully that changed (for the most part) when I moved to Bellingham. During the day, I've had pretty good experiences. At night is a whole other ballpark entirely! I have repeatedly had the WORST experiences w/ a driver named Jeff. He is EXTREMELY RUDE, racist and sexist in every disgusting way. And definitely NOT aware that his opinions on everything is completely unnecessary and very off putting!! Picked up downtown. Tried to make small talk. Was shut down. I asked where he is from....nice small talk. He answered here. I said oh what part? He said. Why you ask you don't belive me? Very angry and rude. He happened to be black. I asked why so rude? Im just trying to be nice. He said dont bother. Why cuz i am white?? I happen to be married to a black man. But yeah drivers attitude was too angry and rude to even make small talk. Even refused a tip. Called to complain. Was met with pitiful excuses.

Yellow cab neglected to send a cab during an American Automobile Association roadside assistance claim. I am disappointed that my group of 4 were left waiting on the back roads of Whatcom County. In the end we called Uber who showed up as they said they would and provided a thoroughly enjoyable ride.

Warning DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! On two different occasions two different drivers short changed my husband by significant amounts! One fare was $6.41 after being given $10 he handed back $1. So he pocketed $3.49! Counting on the fact that my husband had to deal with our two young children. We are planning on making a formal complaint with the city. I would hope anyone else who let this slide in the past to do the same. At some point people in Bellingham have to stop being gouged.

I used to use Yellow Cab frequently to get around. They used to always be there on time. But all the sudden their customer service became absolutely horrible. I frequently found myself waiting anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour to get picked up - it was ridiculous. But I often had to rely on them to get around when the weather was cold, so I had to put up with paying $15 to go four miles after waiting to get picked up for almost an hour. Their main dispatcher is incredibly rude and disrespectful and was never helpful or understanding when I called for a time update after waiting 20+ minutes. One

I'd give them zero stars if I could. After being an Elite Yelper for 7 years, I've give out very few one star reviews, but this cab company is horrid. They always underestimate the wait time and the last time we used them was the final straw. I called them at 9:42pm and they quoted me 10-20 minutes. I wait more than 30 minutes (as I don't any to be "that pesky customer") till 10:15pm before calling to get an ETA on our cab. They say "We don't have that logged. Are you sure you called us?" Yellow Cab is awful--I recently booked an online cab for the 5 am flight out of Bellingham, requesting the cab at 3:30. No cab showed up. When I called the dispatcher was unbelievably rude, yelled at me, and rather than apologizing suggested it was my fault (I was looking at my email confirmation at the time--it was their error). Worst taxi company in the whole Bellingham area due to dispatch, not the drivers. Especially the guy who works on dispatch after 10pm on any night, he is the rudest person you'll ever talk to. He hangs up on people, cusses at callers, and sounds like he hates his job more than anything. It would be best if all the drivers switched to another company or if yellow cab just fired most of their dispatch people. Its not a hard job, they can find people with better customer service. None of the other cab companies in Bellingham have such rude/unhelpful dispatch, so I know it is possible.

I would give a 0 star if I could also. The dispatcher was rude quoted me 5-20 mins 40 minutes later still waiting. However our friend, who called seperately a minute after than me, got a cab in 5 mins. I called back, the rude dispatcher answered. When I asked about my call and how long my cab would be he responded with, " I told you it's on it's way. Cab #111" *as an addendum the cab never showed up and we got a ride with David T taxi and he was awesome!

I would give 0 stars if I could. We left the bars at 12:30 hoping the cabs wouldn't be too busy yet. The incredibly rude dispatcher quoted us a 20 minute wait, after 45 minutes we called back and they assured us we were still "on the list" after over 2 hours we still never received a call from yellow cab. We ended up using a different cab company. I can't wait for Bellingham to get Uber.

I have used the online cab request service many times, usually for emergency purposes.
The first time was 2 years ago when we uncovered severe black mold in our apartment and had to take our cat with us to a nearby hotel fast. The driver was helpful, carried our haphazardly packed bags to the van and was sympathetic to our cat's wild howls of terror.

I would give this company no stars if I could because our ride was cancelled. When we first called, the dispatcher told us 10 to 20 minutes. At 10 minutes we stepped outside to wait and at 20 minutes we called again. We were told they would send the next available cab. At 30 minutes when I called again they basically cancelled our ride because they had sent all the cabs to the airport. Why were we not told this the first time? This is why we will be seeking rides with Blue Cab and hopefully Uber Cab penetrates the transport business.

Terrible Terrible - Don't call them! We ordered a cab at night so we wouldn't drink and drive and they quotes us 45 minute pick - well at one hour - we called back and then to us - who are you? where are you going? Then they said they would call us back and nothing 15 minutes later - we called them back and cancelled! We called Blue Cab and they showed up in 20 minute! Hell will freeze over if I use ever them ever again! We need UBER in this town!

I've done business with Yellow Cab many times over the last year. While the drivers are usually pleasant and helpful. However, I can't support them any longer. The dispatch is the worst. They are rude, condescending and if you ask how long it will be they are never even close. Tonight I reached my final straw. After a long night, I called for a pick up. I was ready to go but knew it could be 20 minutes or more. I told the guy my name, where I was at a and that I was ready to go. I've used them for several years and always had good/decent experience. Recently I called the night before for a prearranged cab to the Amtrak station. In the past, cabs have been five minutes late or so and that was no problem. A quick call to the dispatcher or sometimes a call from the driver would provide an ETA.
