At the Caio Terra Academy in Irving, Texas, we believe Jiu-Jitsu is for everyone. All of the Fundamental classes follow the curriculum, designed by 12 time world champion, Professor Caio Terra.

I've known Collin for several years now, from before my VSG procedure, and have always loved his instruction. Now that I have joined CTA as a student so glad to be part of his team, with a full schedule of classes, and an amazing style of teaching I couldn't recommend a better teacher!

Welcome to the Caio Terra Academy, Irving Texas, one of Dallas's premier martial arts academies. With programs for men, women and children specializing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and self defense we invite you to stop in and see all we have to offer. We are open 6 days a week and offer a variety of classes to fit any schedule!
We offer a variety of different packages to meet all of your training needs. At the Caio Terra Academy, we offer 1 year contracted memberships as well as month to month! After your initial payment, all accounts are set to auto-renew. To stop this, please email or give us notice in writing! At CTA Irving, we believe in the one team philosophy!
This class was designed for beginners with little or no experience. Here, they will learn the basic moves, positions, and the fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu. This class will help you to learn step by step techniques that are essential to building a solid game in Jiu-Jitsu and covers Caio Terra's white to blue belt curriculum.
At the Caio Terra Academy Irving, we believe that the training your child will receive with us will last a lifetime. We will help your child achieve their full potential by increasing their self-esteem and confidence while teaching them an effective martial art. Your child will have a head start in life because they will be ready to deal with tough situations such as peer pressure and bullying.
At CTA Irving, we offer classes in the morning, afternoons, nights, and weekends to accommodate all schedules, fitness levels, and abilities. Even if you have never practiced a martial art or participated in any sport, we gladly welcome you. You can get started with our fundamental program, which will teach you proper body mechanics and techniques so you can build your foundation.

Life had different plans for me and BJJ no longer become part of my life, but it was the most fun hobby I have picked up over the years.
I explained to Colin I had to quit in the middle of the contract due to health issues and as I was reaching my pocket for the early termination fee, Colin said "don't worry about the fee and stuff, just stay healthy. Maybe we'll golf sometimes" and we said our goodbyes.
This was in 2019 and I still remember fondly of how Colin cared so much about someone who was there only for 4 months. Truly a great mentor and a friend.

I’m a student at Sloth Jiu Jitsu, an affiliate with Caio Terra, and I just wanted to say how much I love training at this facility. I was welcomed with open arms by Professor Collin Grayson, as well as his students. I usually attend the morning class, one of many available times he has on his schedule. And even at 6am in the morning, you get 110% from coach Grayson. If you’re looking to get started, and you’re in the local Irving area, drop in, and I promise you, you won’t regret it. He will treat you like one of his own, and so will his students.

The techniques here are different than elsewhere. I've done jiu jitsu for a couple years, and for a long time had trouble with some of the basic techniques. Elsewhere, the guidance for more advanced techniques was detailed, but for the basics was, "Yeah, you just do it." The Caio Terra method is much more methodical, and it worked for my body and proportions (5'8" ~150 lbs). With that step-by-step process, I found that training partners who beat me regularly could barely keep up with the series of attacks I could throw at them. Why? Joining Caio Terra has been nothing short of an amazing experience.
I have never had the opportunity to take any form of martial arts before Jiu Jitsu and I could not think of a more welcoming and informative experience than the one I received from Collin Grayson's gym.
Each class flows and builds nicely on previously covered material. The lesson plans are clear and easy to implement, The philosophy can be quite technical, but does a great job preparing you for competition, life, or just the pure fun of learning the language of the sport!
But the value I find important -- CHARACTER and new FAMILY

Absolutely, loved visiting this school. I was in town for a work trip (one week) and was looking for a place to ground me in something familiar. These guys were among one of the top rated in the area and totally lived up to their reputation. Collin and his crew were VERY inviting and treated me like family from the minute we spoke on the phone. The training was technical and the atmosphere focuses on camaraderie. Will, Paul and Julian were among some of the other people I met their. Great school, great vibe and overall great time. Thanks for making me feel at home guys! I'll be back next time I

I have been training for over 7 years and have visited a number of academies in the area. CTA Irving is a great place to train with good people. They welcome me as a visitor and friend and I continue to cross train with them whenever possible.
