Led by the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia of Nashville, students receive excellent academic training while growing in their ability to think clearly about the ethical and cultural issues of our times. Athletic programs, service opportunities, daily prayer and a house system foster growth and a sense of family.

St. John Paul II Catholic High School provides a college-preparatory curriculum that achieves high standards and is intentionally integrated among departments. Students will acquire knowledge in the required fields of Religion, Ethics & Culture, English, Mathematics, Science, History/Social Studies, World Languages, Fine Arts, Physical Education, and Digital Media.
Services
We are privileged to have the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia (also known as the "Nashville Dominicans") leading and teaching at our school. Acclaimed for their expertise in Catholic education and for their academic and spiritual leadership, they have spent the last 155 years enlightening the minds and hearts of young people with the Truth of Christ.
With the chapel in the center of the top floor, Christ is physically and spiritually the center of the school. Our chaplain offers Mass at the school daily, hears confessions, offers the all-school Masses weekly, and leads prayers at other times. Classes, games, and performances are entrusted to God with prayer.
Step 3: After you submit an online application, the Admissions office will contact you to schedule a family interview. Only student applying and parents or guardians need to attend the family interview. Step 5: Students should be requesting letters of recommendation from a current 8th grade teacher and current school principal.
Students currently in 8th grade have the opportunity to shadow a current student at St. John Paul II Catholic High School. 8th graders will be able to experience a high school classroom setting and ask questions about our school. To be considered for a student shadow day, the family must have done a campus tour or submitted a student application for the upcoming year.
The High School Placement Test provides normative measures in the following cognitive and basic skills areas: verbal and cognitive skills as well as reading, mathematics, and language. The HSPT is required for all incoming freshmen. There is also a required essay that will need to be completed on the day of the test.

Terrible experience. They humiliate children and make them feel worthless. They have no sense of Catholic community within the direct administration. My daughter who was a Straight A Student prior to the pandemic, having attended Catholic School her entire life had been accepted to JP2 as a freshman with a scholarship. My daughter chose to attend public school her freshman year during the pandemic, did online school for most of the year. She had a difficult year during the pandemic with depression and online school. She asked to help her return to Catholic Education, public school was not for her

This is a wonderful new Catholic high school with academic excellence and a fervent commitment to Catholic teachings. The Dominican sisters and lay staff offer a balanced and well-rounded education following a long tradition of Saint Dominic and Saint Thomas Aquinas. Christ is at the center of the school in the chapel and in their educational philosophy. — Fr Hans Ruygt, pastor
