Since 1979 SES has held a strong hold on West Virginia's residential, commercial and industrial needs of water, soil and coal testing. Our small but diverse laboratory abilities and experience allows us to accommodate any request, projects or issues, with a quick response timeframe, that larger corporations can't provide.
Our overburden testing techniques detailed in Field and Laboratory Methods Applicable to Overburdens and Minesoils (EPA 600/2-78-054). SES reports identify materials both toxic and favorable in the overburden so that material handling scenarios can be developed for environmentally sound mining practices.

We had a request from a customer to have our Sandstone tested for acidity and other geologic values, as the rock was being used to repair a river bank (lots of environmental specs to meet!). I needed to get the testing done quickly and timely, so I called Sturm and they were very accommodating and helpful from the start! The staff and service at Sturm was excellent! They were also very timely and responsive to my requests; the cost for the "rush order" was very reasonable as well. After getting my results, I was able to call them directly to learn and understand the reports. They took the time
