We offer a peaceful vacation spot at the base of Jack's Mt, bordering Bald Eagle State Forest and within 2 miles of Walker Lake which offers great fishing opportunities. There are trails to hike and great places to visit nearby or just relax by your campfire and enjoy a relaxing vacation.

We are located in Snyder County on Troxelville Rd, 7 miles west of Penns Creek. See ya soon!

Accommodations Report

From two person tents to 45' luxury RVs, Gray Squirrel Campgrounds has room for just about everything. Choose from full or partial hook-ups, beautiful tenting areas, or spacious 1 bedroom cottages. Whether you like old fashion "roughin' it" or the comfort of your own camper, we have just the site for you.

Your Campsite Report

When you have finished cleaning your campsite let us know by signing the sheet in the office so that you will not be fined. During the camping season you are responsible and expected to keep your campsite neat and clean at all times. Failure to keep your campsite clean could result in extra clean up fines, or being asked to vacate the premises.

Campground Rules Report

Alcoholic beverages : are only to be consumed at your own campsite. Do not transport from site to site. If drinking alcoholic beverages becomes a problem to neighbors or management, you will respectively be asked to leave the park immediately. No Profanity, Rowdiness or Drunkenness will be tolerated on our property.

It is a very quiet place. The people are very friendly. Rates are very reasonable. Events are scheduled throughout the year. There is not much for young children. No pool, golf carts, or 4 wheelers.

The cottage had a very musty smell. All night long we heard the banging of the bathroom doors. It woke our baby up almost every time she would start crying and I'd have to get her settled and back to sleep. The slamming is quite loud. It was a rough night to say the least. I will say Julie was very nice and easy to make reservations with. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be back because of the slamming doors.

This is Our 2nd year camping at Gray Squirrel campground & we love it.. The owners are great. The campground is quite & very relaxing..

I don't like that there are more "permanent" sites than "weekender" sites. Unimpressed by this! Also sites for the "weekender" as they call them are not very spacious. Didn't have room for a picnic table and barely room for a campfire.

Brought My mom camping for mother's day weekend. We had a blast reminiscing about all the old memories we have from years ago camping as children. I found the staff just as friendly as I remember growing up and was pleasantly surprised as to how much Gray Squirrel has grown over the years. I cannot Wait to return for a longer stay.

The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming.
The campsite was extremely large and level grassy area amidst trees. Ample room to bring friends and family and their tents too. Firewood everywhere but they also sell large bundles for cheap if you don't want to go into the woods areas.
