Cumberland Dental Specialists is built on a foundation of honesty, communication, and service. Dr. William Chan graduated from Woonsocket High School and attended the University of Rhode Island, majoring in Zoology. During college, Dr. Chan discovered his interest in dentistry, and his family dentist urged him to pursue his passion. Dr. Chan graduated in three years from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, in 1975.
Dr. Nick Lavoie is certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and has been in practice for more than 10 years. Dr. Lavoie is also a very friendly and warm presence here at our office, which can go a long way toward helping children feel at ease and comfortable during their treatment.
He is dedicated to providing our wonderful patients the most positive experience possible, with the goal of achieving and maintaining healthy teeth and a happy smile for years to come.

Just got kicked out of Cumberland Dental Specialists on Mendon Rd in Cumberland for refusing to put a mask on myself and my children. My 5 year old daughter was there for a cleaning. Checked in and waited 45 mins in waiting room with no one saying anything to us. One lady even took her in for just the X-ray part with no problem. Then hear comes the dental hygienist to call my daughter in and says she needs a mask to walk literally 5 ft into the room to just have to take it off anyway! I said politely "no we will not be putting masks on, will you still give my daughter her cleaning?"

My daughter has been coming here for a few years and I have to say that they are great with the kids! My daughter enjoys going and the tokens they provide at the end for little prizes are a huge motivator to get her excited to go.
The staff is very nice and the office is quite clean. The only complaint I have is the wait. Sometimes it's worse than others. This last time, it wasn't too bad so I'm hoping they're working on that.
