Dappled Earth
Consider a dappled shade pattern that moves across the ground through the day. Never static. The pattern moves and changes; darkens and lightens. Now consider the patterns we place on the earth when we build homes, communities, and make alterations as simple as planting trees. These patterns too are not stagnant.

They change and evolve with our values and our whims. As a educated and experienced landscape architects we design nurturing landscape for our families, our communities, and our planet. Move with us beyond sustainability and into landscapes that nurture life. Landscape architects undergo very specific training.

My husband and I had always dreamed of having a nice water feature. Last year, at our golf club's charity event, we were the successful bidders of a landscape package from Dappled Earth. We contacted Eileen Obermiller, the landscape architect, who met with us in early Spring and worked with us to redesign our current landscaping to include a beautiful water feature that makes us smile whenever we look out of our Family room window.
You can reinforce your brand and show your level of commitment to quality with a purposefully designed landscape for your commercial property. Take a moment to consider what your commercial landscape currently says about your business. Is it stylish, trendy, or tranquil? Is it attractive year round?
Located in south Bend, Oregon, Hollygrape park provides picnic areas, open spaces, a play structure with a wobbly bridge, trail connections to local schools, and paved areas for small children to practice skating. As a neighborhood park it is easily reached by children on foot and on bikes. Since the park was located in a forested area, the park looked as though it have been then for years when it was just finished.
Land planning is essential to successful development. Land planning starts with research of the property, followed by research of state land use laws and local codes affecting that property. Next conceptual designs are undertaken to see just how the property can be developed. How many apartments can we place on the property while providing open spaces, parking, and storm water drainage?
Above is a portion of the landscape plan for the rain gardens and the interpretive area at the Cascade Lakes Welcoming Center, USFS Deschutes National Forest, Bend, Oregon. The landscaping features locally native grasses, perennials, shrubs, and trees. They were selected for mitigation and interpretive purposes.
