Services
I completed my B.A. in psychology at Smith College in Northampton, MA and my Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology at American University in Washington, DC. Throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies, I conducted psychological research on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), compulsive hoarding, anxiety, perfectionism, and Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
My standard fee is $250 per hour. I offer reduced rates for college students, graduate students, and other individuals in financial need. If you believe you may be eligible for a reduced rate, please indicate this in your initial phone call or email to me. The frequency of therapy sessions varies depending on the individual's treatment plan and the severity of his or her condition.
You should also keep an additional copy for your records. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a federal mandate for privacy issues that cover certain health services. This information will be stored securely in your clinical file and may be updated upon request at any time.

Dr. Ravin saved my sons life. Her willingness to work with my son and guide him through his disease helped him flourish and heal. I will forever be grateful to God for the love and care that Dr. Ravin showed our family. Her exposure therapies were outstanding and her techniques worked so very well. My son even said a few weeks ago that Dr. Ravin was the best psychologist he had ever worked with. We miss working with you very much and thank you for all you did for our family. The best decision we made was to contact Dr Ravin.
Edit: Our family is a little over a year since our child was declared in remission from anorexia. I sincerely believe Dr Ravin saved our child's life. She worked with our family every step of the way explaining our child's behavior, talking us through our strategies to deal with every new behavior that anorexia threw at us during refeeding and how to work past the worst parts and the worst behaviors. Family based treatment is very difficult but we have given our child a chance at a normal life and would not have been able to get through FBTwithout

I have consulted with many "professional" therapists in Miami over the years and Dr. Ravin is by far the very best. She is professional, conscientious, ethical, compassionate, responsive and communicative. She involves the parents in treatment and the whole family when needed. Our daughter was diagnosed with AE in March 2017 and we were referred to Dr. Ravin by our pediatrician. Over the course of over a year, Dr. Ravin treated our daughter and guided our family through one of the most difficult periods we could imagine. Nothing quite prepares you for the challenge of this misunderstood disease, however, with Dr. Ravin's care, counsel and objectivity, we were able to move through the phases of recovery, inevitable slides sideways and backwards, and eventually reach full recovery. I have never written a review on the internet in my life, but I feel so compelled to write a review for Dr. Sarah Ravin because I TRULY believe she not only saved my daughters life, but saved our entire family. It has been one year since our family and now 12 year old daughter began treatment with Dr. Ravin. If you are reading this review trying to find a doctor, look no further, you have found your path to recovery. We have been where you are right now...scared and not knowing what to do. Dr. Ravin is truly one of the best psychologists in the world for the treatment of eating disorders. She is professional, kind, and extremely intelligent--all qualities that influence and guide her treatment methods.

My daughter has been seeing Dr. Ravin for approximately two years after spending 9 months in two different treatment centers for anorexia. Extremely frustrated that our daughter was still struggling, we contacted Dr. Ravin. Dr. Ravin successfully guided us through helping our daughter FULLY recover from her eating disorder. She is so supportive and always quick to be there if you need her. The support she provided to our entire family continues to be invaluable. I can’t recommend her highly enough!
