We are Puget Sound's oldest and best known NAUI Dive Center. We love to SCUBA dive in the Emerald Seas of Washington's Puget Sound, here on the beautiful Kitsap Peninsula. We teach people from Bremerton, Silverdale, Bainbridge Island, Poulsbo, Tacoma, and Gig Harbor. Bremerton is just minutes from Seattle, the San Juan Islands, Bainbridge Island, Hood Canal and the Straits of Juan de Fuca.

We actively support our Community through participation in underwater cleanups, show and tells with elementary schools, scholarships and participation in civic groups (Rotary), Scouts and the Washington SCUBA Alliance. Sound Dive Center gives back to our community. We are a full service DIVE CENTER.
A lot of scuba retailers (Dive Stores) have a poor or negative, knee-jerk reaction to customers shopping on the web. Good, You're shopping for SCUBA gear! Divers are good people. SCUBA Diving can be a great lifetime activity, so its essential that you own the best equipment you can afford. Most pieces of equipment should last a lifetime.
NAUI is the oldest of the agency's, it is non profit and governed by a BOD who are elected by its member instructors. NAUI instructors have been a integral part of Sound Dive Center for over 35 years. DAN Diver Alert Network is a great group of diving medical professionals. DAN advocates dive safety by promoting best practices throughout the dive industry.
We specialize teaching Family's, teens, kids and people just wanting learn to dive both locally and or dive the exotic warm waters of Mexico, or Fiji or destinations that dreams are made off. When you "Jump into" a Sound Dive Center (SDC) SCUBA Diver course, it will be your pass to a lifetime of adventure in SCUBA Diving.
Sound Dive Center is the first Dive Center in the Puget Sound to teach and provide Nitrox commercially to the recreation diver (1993). We currently have two specially designed NITROX compressor systems. With over 10,000 cubic ft of stored Nitrox, we can provide immediate "cold & slow fills" at 32% or NN1(NOAA Nitrox 1).

THE place to go if you're scuba or freediving on the Kitsap. I'm a regular diver and have gone there for years but the new owners are making daily improvements. So even if you were there in the past, if you haven't been by in the last year, you don't know the place. It's changed and for the better.
Great place to get your certification or gear up or just get a nitrox fill. Staff are friendly and helpful and there's a real growing family of divers breathing much needed new life into the west sound scuba scene.

Incompetence and unprofessionalism are the two adjectives that come to mind after my recent experience there. My wife and I walked in asking for a beginner set of dive equipment for me and Dean (I believe that's his name) said "we have a package deal for $299 (mask, snorkel, fins, boots, and gloves)". I was like that's awesome, but after an hour of picking which gear I wanted (it was slow because Dean struggled to answer my basic questions about the gear), I went to check out and he asked what class I was taking with them. I said I wasn't taking a class and he then told me the deal didn't apply

Since the new owners took over it's literally like a breath of fresh air. I actually stopped going after I once heard the previous owner talking down to someone in the rudest way and decided I didn't want to spend my money there. Once I heard it was under new ownership, I gave it another shot and glad I did! I had what I considered "White Glove Service"! They took their time, explained everything to me and even educated me on an item that I thought I absolutely needed to have and found that what I actually needed was less expensive! Great shop and great people. The Brown family and Brett are awesome and helpful people. Answered all questions I had. Been to shops all around the world and this is definitely one of the best. Great people and dive shop! I got recertified for open water through Sound Dive in April and plan on taking Advanced and Rescue through them later this summer. The shop manager is really knowledgeable and is an all around awesome guy. The new owners are actively looking for input on improvement and creating an inclusive atmosphere. I was able to find gear that fit me perfectly, which is something that as a curvy girl I have struggle with in the past.

I needed a refresher-hadn't been diving in 25 years and I have an upcoming dive trip. Sound Dive was FANTASTIC. For a VERY fair fee, I got all the instruction I needed and as much pool time as I needed to regain my confidence. They had several instructors with me and we had a blast. They are fun, super encouraging, they have excellent gear and all the knowledge needed to get me back into SCUBA. If you live on the peninsula, this is where to go for all things SCUBA.

I’ll start by saying there are a decent number of good review for this dive shop so we may have just caught them on a bad day. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a good experience. We arrived about 40 minutes prior to closing and as soon as we walked in we were told that they were planning to close early, but “I guess you can look around”. We decided to stay because we’d driven quite a ways and left work early specifically to go there and check out gear. We’re fairly new to diving and trying to figure out what gear we’d like as a starter set-up. We asked what size wetsuit they thought

Sent my paintball tank to this place for rehydro service. Received a broken tank about a week later and was charged the full $50 price for a complete rehydro. Returned in my original box with nothing but a receipt.
All they did was break my tank and rip me off. Save yourself the trouble and don't send anything to this place to work on, unless you want it broken.

I am so glad to have a high quality dive shop in the area. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Ive purchased gear that has failed within the warranty period and the shop has been able to help me reach a speedy resolution to replace the equipment under warranty and get me back in the water. One of the best dive shops I have been to. With 30+ yrs of diving that is saying alot. Staff is knowledgeable and host great shop dives. Looking for a shop with a hometown feel, this is it. Very large gear selection, excellent instructional staff, full service dive shop. On site hydros. Love this shop.

Updated: Just got Advanced Dive certified today!! Special thanks to Mike Muhich for literally spending 3 weekends with me to coach me through all my kinks so I could feel comfortable under water. I was determined to get back in the water after blooping a few months ago (everybody bloops!), and Mike made it happen- making me feel comfortable, confident and ready to dive more. Thank you for your patience, dedication and humor. And for believing in me. You made a lifelong student of the underwater world out of myself and my husband. We'll be back!

I was told they only have one person fill tanks and that person only works three days a week - at a DIVE SHOP. Only game in town, so it messed over my outing since the guy called out sick and left me scrambling to find another source.
Same curly blonde haired lady "helped" me both times, but her attitude was exceptionally pisspoor - when and even acknowledged me.
I do not recommend this shop. In fact, I suggest you don't walk but run in any other shop's direction.

Sound Dive Center is one of those Gem's in West Sound that may go unnoticed unless you had that keen sense of observation or radar only seen with certified divers...but even if you are not certified...drop in and look around...!!!
Aqua Lung is my brand of choice and Sound Dive Center carries most Aqua Lung equipment...and many other brands. From wet to dry suits, BC's, computers, regulators, masks, fins, boots & gloves...tanks, air, nitrox...they also offer certification classes.
A remarkable dive center that warrants nothing less than 5-stars.

There's a reason this store is widely considered the worst dive store in western Washington. Grossly overpriced gear, hot fills and fill bank gauges that read 300psi high so that it LOOKS like you're getting a good fill when you're not are the norm here. Need regs serviced? You're looking at 6-12 WEEKS to get them done.
Combine that with the manager treating everyone who walks through the door like an ATM and this is a store you should run from as fast as you can.

Great place for any diver to hangout and find what to do around the area. Jim is great and lets you know about all the upcoming dives. Unlike a lot of places, if they are out diving, you are more than welcome without cost so take advantage. This was my local dive shop for 2 years and would recommend it to anyone in the area. Happy diving!
