Situated on the Intracoastal Waterway just south of Townsend's Inlet, Avalon Yacht Club's location provides a beautiful backdrop to its members and their guests for activities both on and off the water. Our Clubhouse offers fine dining as well as a casual grill room for our members and is also available for private events and weddings.
Some of the activities offered by our Club include sailing lessons for our youth and adults, sailing regattas for all ages, women's auxiliary activities, weekly entertainment, and many other exciting events.

Services
The Avalon Yacht Club was formed as a result of a group of men looking for a place "to sit down and have a drink" and "take our wives to dance". This group of the old "Casino Club" members raised funds from their friends and then pleaded their case for a "spot of land" to officials of the Borough of Avalon.
The Avalon Yacht Club offers lots of fun activities for its young members including sailing programs, an arts & crafts program and youth social events which are open to all children and grandchildren of members. Session 1 will culminate on Family Day with swimming and sailing exhibitions, races and awards.
The Avalon Cup is an ocean race that is held each year in late July or early August. Two PHRF divisions race from Townsends Inlet to Cape May Inlet for a total distance of approximately 13 miles. A third division for Flying Scots has its own race course offshore of Townsends Inlet. All racing is within sight of the Avalon beaches providing great opportunities for spectators.
The AYC has many activities for everyone in the family! Each year we have events such as a house tour, a fashion show, and a golf tournament. These are just a few of events we have each year! We also have parties on our North Deck such as "Back to Philly Night", a festive tribute to Philadelphia, where everyone wears Philadelphia sports attire.
During the summer season, the Club is open 6 nights a week for Dinner, & additionally for Lunch on the weekends (closed Tuesdays). You can choose to dine indoors in our Main Dining Room, or outside on the North Deck underneath the new pergola - both options complete with a picturesque backdrop of the bay & a spectacular sunset view!

Menu for dinner is AWFUL. Thought we were given the lunch menu by mistake. No thought given to it in the slightest. Most expensive item was crab cakes for $45. Most other items were under $20. Would have spent much more for lobster, steak, halibut... anything. Only seafood choices were shrimp and salmon. If you're looking for a cheap night out with incredible sunset views, this is your place. We expected much more from somewhere with a fine dining reputation... and POTENTIAL. Service was great, but they started playing bingo during dinner service at 7PM... very low class.

You MUST book your wedding at AYC!!! Cannot say enough good things about Brian, Jarrod and the team at AYC. We were engaged July October 2018, then walked to the yacht club the very next day (unannounced) to check availability and we instantly knew this was going to be our venue. Growing up down the shore we wanted to capture the magic of the jersey shore and AYC went above and beyond. We married October 19, 2019 (before COVID fortunately. My sympathies go out to those who are managing the wedding planning process during these unprecedented times). You won't need a wedding planner because Jarrod

This is the perfect venue for a wedding. Plenty of parking, gorgeous views of the water and the service was impeccable. Jared helped us manage our 200 person wedding ceremony and reception. We loved the intimate size of the dining areas and the bar was perfect for serving everyone while waiting for the guests to be seated. The hordeurves were passed and each warm and delicious. Prior to the ceremony, we enjoyed our private room upstairs away from the guests and while we got ready to enter the reception.
The space for the band was perfect and plenty of room for dancing.
We would book this venue

The Avalon Yacht Club has a prime location. If you are inside the club there are water views from almost every angle. Those who belong just love it. There are numerous activities all summer long for the children and adults. If you are thinking of joining you should. You will make
lots of friends and have a great time on the dance floor on weekends.
Life is short! Enjoy yourself!

The general manager, Brian, worked like he was prepping and coordinating an event for the president of the United States. We went to a wedding at the yacht club. Everything was perfect. Food came out quickly and they made sure everyone on the table got their food at the same time. The food was amazing. The appetizers were seasoned shrimp cocktail, curry chicken skewer with peanut sauce, beef on skewer, crab cakes, sausage wrapped in a roll, roasted veggies and potatoes, and lamb. Dinner options were prime rib, fish stuffed with crab (gluten free), vegetarian, and the kids had fries and chicken

I have been a member for about 12 years. The club has one of the few water views on 7-mile island for dining, and you get to see the sun set through the main window, over the water--a truly enjoyable experience. There is a large bar in a separate room, where members can go to socialize and have a cocktail prior to dinner. Also in the bar area is a separate dining area--for lighter fare.
The food is as good as just about any restaurant in the Avalon/Stone Harbor area, and the menu is varied. From time to time cookouts are held in the outside area, for special occasions--sailing regattas, fishing
