Lloyd's Shoes

Fell in love with this place--the shop carries umpteen types of super comfortable looking shoes, sneakers, etc. But this is not your basic comfort type shoe store. They have studs, sequins, rhinestones, color and then some. I mean. So damn dope. Hello! Love love love the stylish yet comfy sensibility here. Because it's Christmas season, they were slammed but still, damn, this works be my go to.

They have really nice quality of shoes and selection. I took the plunge and bought my first pair of French Sole flats. The sales people were really nice. The sales lady stretched my shoe and scotch guarded it for me. If you are in the market for unique shoes, come here. They have a selection that you can't find in a department store.

Unvaccinated sales people. While purchasing a pair of shoes, I learned the sales person who was helping me was not vaccinated. My friend and I are in our 70s and were quite shocked And would not have entered the store had we known. My friend was suppose to go back to buy another pair of shoes but will not. Business owners need to warn shoppers that their sales people are unvaccinated and could put them in danger.

Visited Carmel recently and was impressed by Lloyds Shoes store and selection. Quality and fashion are part of their formula.

I've been going to Lloyds for years and years. This last time the tall blond, (forgot to ask name) helped me. she was outstanding. She showed me what she thought I would like and I did end up buying a pair of shoes that I love. She was so helpful but not pushy. A great experience. go there

This is my absolute favorite shoe store in Carmel. The best selection of unique and noteworthy shoe brands that are of quality. The staff is friendly (not the warmest group of people ) but this is a busy shoe store. Will travel seasonally to Carmel just to see what the new inventory is. Have bought Cydwoq's here and shoe brands that are made in Spain. It's a definite step up from department stores.

I went into Lloyds yesterday for the first time (I am a local) and was blown away by one sales lady in particular. I wish I had gotten her name. She had long dark hair, maybe 5'2 and I'm here to tell you this gal KNOWS HER STUFF!!! Having lived in Houston my whole life and spending the last year in Carmel I can honestly say the one thing Carmel is lacking is customer service. But when it comes to Lloyds, this little gal went above, beyond and well beyond! And not only was she helping me but 2 other ladies and she was keeping up with ALL of us! I mean who can do that??? Lloyd's is hit or miss for me as far as selection. Sometimes I find the most adorable unique sandals or heels and other times I find the selection a bit stodgy. Each time the customer service has been quite good. When I bought a pair of cute grey suede sandals on my last visit, Lloyd's treated them for me before I left. They always have a small wall with a few pairs of shoes on sale and they carry unique bags as well. So while the selection might be hit or miss, I always stop in when I'm in Carmel. When I do find something, it's usually not something others in VA will be wearing

Come here in a pinch. The sales associate who helped me was amazing! The store had a great selection! And...even better...they had exactly what I was looking for.

After finding the shoes, the sales associate offered to spray my new shoes for me to protect them from the elements. This was super unexpected and beyond nice and helpful! The cashier knew I was in from out of town so she offered to give me a travel bag for my new shoes.

I will be shopping here next time I'm in town!

Lloyd's is just plain so-so.
They don't have the most thrilling shoe selection, and I definitely wouldn't call them the best shoe store around, but you can get something decent there in a pinch.
If you like more stylish/less mainstream brands, there are other options in Carmel that are far more chic. On the other hand, if you're looking for a running/hiking hybrid shoe that looks like an chunky Mary-jane, or a very practical business shoe that wishes it were a Chanel flat, Lloyd's is perfect. They carry Frye boots, Stuart Weitzman, Toms... Pretty average stuff.
The negative

Lloyd's is awesome. I have bought my girlfriend shoes there for more than one birthday and the sales associates were always complete sweethearts. I wasn't even going to write a review until I read the negative one star review from the "local" below who clearly stole a pair of shoes... If you didn't, then why not just show your purse? How awkward was that silence while she stood there glaring at you while she knew they were in your purse? I hope the next time you do that you get caught. Don't believe that nonsense. Lloyd's rocks.

I love Lloyd's! It's the only shoe store in town with a good selection of cute shoes, and purses! I have been shopping here for years. I love the family owned vibe and customer service. Whenever I need boots I come here for the Frye selection. Also has a great price range to fit everyone's needs. I'm so happy this store has stayed in business through the ups and downs of our economy. I will continue to support them with my shopping habit!

Selection (8/10) : Excellent, and well stocked in standard sizes! There are some very cute, stylish shoes in this store. However, there doesn't seem to be as much of an accommodation for people who need an irregular fit, such as a boot with a larger calf, or shoes that are narrower/unusually wide, etc. The fit of these shoes is very cookie cutter.

Price (7/10) : Great sales, good price mix (ranging from $50), but some of the shoes are more expensive than they really should be, considering the quality.

I used to work in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea and I also used to manage a retail business and today I have never seen worse customer service in my life! While visiting my mother and having lunch in Carmel, we decided to stop and look at Lloyd's since I used to love shopping there when I worked in town. Being that I have a new job I was actually looking to spend a bit of money and update my "professional" shoe closet. I've been dying for a new pair of Frye boots!

My wife and I spent a day down in Carmel during our honeymoon and of course she found every shoe place in the shopping district!

Lloyd's carrys the high end of women's shoes with a great staff to make you and your feet the star. Thier staff was polite and quick to return with a size and the selection is very impressive for thier somewhat small square footage.

I found their boot selection somewhat lacking, but it is the beginning of summer, so I won't fault them there.

Either way, a great place to get a fantastic pair of shoes for the ladies.

This little, indie shoe store has been around for as long as I can remember! I'm so glad it's still alive and kicking, since the rest of Carmel seems to be getting wealthier and more expensive by the minute.

They offer hundreds of designers and at fair prices. I can't say they're DSW deals, because they do run high. But the quality of the shoe is what I care about most, and I'm always willing to pay more for a decent pair.
