When a marriage ends, it is one of the most emotionally challenging experiences a person can endure. Every divorce is unique and it can be a lengthy and complex process. You deserve to have an attorney that will listen to your goals and work with you from start to finish, providing sound legal advice and compassion during this difficult time.
All too often, children become the casualties of divorce or other parenting litigation cases. The Stewart Law Office does not believe children should be used as a bargaining chip. When parents separate, decisions regarding the care and custody of the children must be made.
Generally, the children and parents will be better served by putting the welfare of the children first and having the parents try to decide what is best for their changing family rather than litigation. The Stewart Law Office will work hard to address the needs of your children effectively and efficiently through aggressive negotiations to create a custody schedule that is in your and your child's best interest.

As life brings about changes for you and your family, sometimes what is best for your children may change as well. Custody modifications can be sought based on major life changes such as one parent moving to another state, unsafe conditions for your child in the custodial parent's home, or changes in your child's behavior based upon the home environment.
Both parents are required to support their children financially. Over the past 4 years, the guidelines for child support in Georgia have drastically changed. Formerly, child support was calculated using the income of the parent who does not have the child the majority of the time.
Now it is calculated using the incomes of both parents along with attention to support paid for other children, health insurance premiums for the children and child care expenses. If an agreement between the parents is not attainable, we fight aggressively in court to secure the best arrangement for you and your children under the law.

Alimony is granted to provide for the needs of a spouse after the dissolution of marriage. Alimony may be awarded to either spouse with a few exceptions. It can be paid in either a lump sum or over a period of time. There are numerous factors that influence the distribution of alimony.
Some of these include the physical and emotional condition of each spouse, the value of the spouses' separate properties, their individual incomes, liabilities and financial obligations, employment status of the parties, age, and length of marriage. There are also some things that can prevent a party from receiving alimony, such as adultery.

Horrible horrible horrible. Bias and cannot remain neutral. Would NEVER use her for anything. Took a child from a well established environment with abundant opportunities to grow to an at risk situation .. does not have the best interest of the child in mind. Very discriminatory throughout case

I could not be more grateful in my decision to hire Saralyn to represent me during my divorce. She is knowledgable, professional, respectful and mindful of all details. The communication from both her and her staff, was exceptional throughout the entire process. Not only did Saralyn successfully obtain the exact outcome that I requested, but in addition, as I encountered unresolved issues and lack of cooperation from my Ex, in adhering to the agreements stated in the divorce decree, she was very supportive and successful in helping me resolve those matters as well. This was an incredibly difficult
