I knew A Shade Better would help me and they did! I purchased a small Tiffany style lamp from a consignment store. The lamp got HOT when I plugged it in when I got home!.....It was a potential fire situation!!!! THANK YOU to Tom and to Nancy who took care of me with the proper bulb for my cute lamp!!! They have a very good selection in-store and my first experience was very positive. However, I do not recommend them for custom orders. Only Tom is trained on how to create a custom order (they have several employees). I had to wait an hour in-store just to talk to him. He didn't place the order until I called him to ask him what the progress was (2 weeks later). He didn't write down the color of fabric that I wanted. He tried to pressure me on the phone to choose a fabric color even though there was a non-refundable deposit. When I sent my husband to meet him to re-decide on the fabric color he

What a pleasant experience at A Shade Above! I brought in two shadeless lamps and Marissa was able to guide me in lamp shade size, color, texture, and even topped them off with a finial - something I had not considered. I liked the lamps before, but now with the addition of the shades we selected, I think they look TOP SHELF. Thanks to Marissa and A Shade Above!

Initially, I brought in my old shade intending to buy an identical replacement. I wasn't thrilled about driving back across town but the salesman Tom suggested that I come back with the lamp so we could find something better. I am so glad I did because Tom helped me try on many different option and we were able to fit my lamp with a totally different shade that looks absolutely beautiful!
