We are Dark Metal Machine Works, an industrial design studio based in Oakland CA. We create simple & beautiful custom weldments and have full CNC / manual machine capability and knowledge. Joe Servin started machining 15 years ago when he moved to Alameda from Sacramento. He always knew that metal fabrication was his calling and took great pride in learning the tricks of the trade.

He is a capable machinist with 15 years of actual work as such and 6 years as a cnc machinist. Our shop can handle all aspect of design and creation, from manual machining, to structural weldments and TIG/MIG aluminum welding.

Joe did an amazing job on my gate and was reasonably priced. He is very passionate about his trade and does an amazing job at taking a customer’s vision and making it come to reality.
My neighbor liked our gate so much he ordered a door for himself.
