Featuring scooter, electric car and golf cart rentals, Hydrothunder is a one stop shop for all your rental needs. HydroThunder of Key West has been family owned and operated since 1994. We take great pride in being the only equipment rental company in Key West that replaces the entire rental fleet each year.
Although Key West can manage to fit thousands of people during Holidays and events, parking can be very difficult downtown. Hydro Thunder offers free shuttle service to and from your hotel. Shuttles consist of two 12 passenger vans, an 8 passenger golf cart and two 6 passenger golf carts that provide you with shuttle service from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, 7 days a week.
We apologize but that is not allowed. Only the people that enter into the agreements with Hydro Thunder can operate the equipment. Do you have helmets for the scooters and what is the age limit that the state requires to wear one?. Yes we do offer helmets and the state law requires the ages 16 and under to wear a helmet.

Chris and Ward’s customer service is pretty bad I walked in there and felt like I was being judged by my appearance right off the bat. Once I got the rental cart Chris barely said a word to me and was completely rude for no reason. Only reason this guy still has a business open is because of the tourism here. Go somewhere else to rent vehicles where they won’t make you feel like garbage for no reason

Good experience. Carts are clean and well maintained. Several places in Key West offer cars and scooters for rent. I've gone to Key West several times and this is definitely the way to get around. Saves your feet. Carts have tops so the sun isn't beating in your head. You can go a lot more places and do a lot more things with a cart especially if you're with family or friends. Well worth the expense. Beware, Key West maps are terrible. Many streets are one way and that's not shown on the maps. Also, you have to pay to park everywhere so be prepared. $4/hr. Minimum ½hr charge, and meter maids enforce
