Last fall, the Capital Region's maple trees were impacted by two fungal diseases that caused leaves to become spotty and fall prematurely. The first disease, anthracnose, caused brown spots and lesions on maple leaves and in some cases the whole tree. Snow mold, also known as snow rot, is a lawn disease that thrives under snow or wet leaves during the cold winter months.

A common misconception is that you seed your lawn in the spring after the ground thaws. The weather is warm enough to encourage good seed germination, yet it is cool enough for grass to grow at its best. The grass doesn't have to face the hot summer sun or the weed competition that is prominent during the early summer months.
If you have new plants that die or develop dieback in the first two years, it is most often due to improper watering. Although pests can also contribute to plant decline, they are rarely the only cause. Nurseries are inspected on a regular basis, and any significant pest issues are usually addressed.

We purchased our property last year. When we did, our lawn was infested with weeds and was very thin. After searching the capital region for Lawncare companies, we decided on Green Thumb Lawncare. Dane came out and gave me a quote for weed control and fertilization. They had the best price and decided to give them a try. After the first treatment, you could see a noticeable difference! Now near the end of the season, our lawn is beautiful! Thick, green, and healthy. The company is very professional and our technician is responsive to our needs. Very highly recommend and we will continue to use
