The cost of membership is equivalent to a week-long vacation at the shore but lasts the whole year round. Make your summer beach vacation last all year!. The GSYC is open to all membership applicants, and as a private club, membership is subject to board approval. Most outdoor activities take place on the property in the summertime.
The rest of the year, parties and events are split between the clubhouse and other locations. Event flyers specify the allowable dress. Many summer weekend evenings are business casual. Others permit casual attire. Traditional galas such as Memorial Day Ball, Commodore's Ball (Labor Day), and New Year's Eve, are black tie optional.

Services
Open to both GSYC members and lake sailors who want to participate, the starting line is in front of our club, on either Saturday or Sunday mornings at 11:00 am. Both members and non-members must email the GSYC Fleet Captain (by using the Contact form) to participate, so there is an accurate boat count and Race Committee boat coverage.
The pool is the perfect spot for swimming, exercising, or just relaxing with spectacular lake views. Fridays during the summer, the pool is often open late to encourage family swimming and dining. If swimming does not tire your family out, there's ping pong, basketball court, tetherball, corn hole, and shuffleboard courts.
Offerings range from casual to fine dining, plus an extensive selection of wines, beers and liquors. Weekend breakfast/brunch and lunch menu, with beer and wine, served on the dining balcony, with a panoramic view of Lake Hopatcong. Children's entertainment and activities keep everyone busy at these family affairs.
For the cost of a week at the Jersey Shore (or less), you've got it all as a member of the Garden State Yacht Club. The size of the membership makes for an atmosphere where "everyone knows your name." The GSYC is a member-run club, with members sharing the responsibility of running each social or outdoor event.

My wife and I were going to join then they accidentally sent me this judgemental email. Can only imagine what they say about others
From Fair Lawn, NJ. Motorcyclist. YUCK. Saw article about his wife being injured riding her motorcycle in 2017. Email is "Dirteejersey," which is very strange and perhaps troubling for a main email address. Google search showed wife had been in a serious motorcycle accident in 2017.

We joined when my kids were 7 and 9. They are now both teenagers and continue to enjoy everything about the club. It's such a great place to socialize with other families and easy to bring guests to the annual Memorial Day and Labor Day pool parties (without having to cook at home!) Swimming, ping pong, tether ball, and of course boating are just a few of our favorite summer pleasures, not to mention the great food.

We've been members for about five years and it was one of the best choices we made. Hubby and I have our summer home in Lake Hopatcong, and there isn't high quality entertainment in the area. We get to see NYC type shows without having to drive all the way to the city. We've seen NYC comedians, cabaret singers, violinists and pianists from Julliard, and more. I can't recommend this club more highly. We've also been able to take visiting clients to shows.

We attended, as guests, a wonderful evening of dinner and contemporary dancing on 8/24/2013. The food was wonderful, the Anniemash Band was fabulous, the Club is beautiful...but most of all, the people (members) were all so welcoming and just having a blast!!! It's the people that make or break a place, and this place has been around for over 60 years! We are giving serious consideration to joining.
