Whether you are a homeowner, boater, angler, sailor, swimmer, kayaker, or any user of Lake Hopatcong, we all need to share the water. By working together to maintain a safe and healthy lake where each user respects the rights of others, we can avoid the need for more regulations and can equally enjoy Lake Hopatcong. A little consideration can go a long way toward avoiding misunderstandings and conflicts, which affect all of us who love Lake Hopatcong.
Services
We maintain many traditions from 1905. The club features an active sailing and social schedule, with an emphasis on activities for the entire family. The club's sailing program includes a junior sailing instructional and racing program, as well as one-design racing in four fleets. The club has an excellent youth program, called "The Juniors", and many social affairs for young and old alike.
Take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species by cleaning boats, trailers, fishing gear and other equipment that has recently been in other bodies of water. Consider the impact your boat wake has for those fishing, kayaking, enjoying time on a moored boat, and even on shore.
Since at least the early 1950's, LHYC has sponsored the annual Fourth of July fireworks display. LHYC has always funded the launching of the fireworks from our members' dues as a contribution to the wider community. In 2013 LHYC bought floating docks substantial and durable enough to also be used for launching fireworks.
