Services
Dr. Brian Lau, AP, DOM, C. SMA, is the owner of Ideal Balance Center for Sports Medicine Acupuncture. Dr. Lau integrates a wide range of Eastern and Western medical principles together to achieve the greatest results for the patient. He specializes in treatment of musculoskeletal pain and injuries, but also treats a wide range of other illnesses, including digestive problems, neurological disease, chronic fatigue, among other diseases.
Any herbal prescriptions and supplements are purchased individually at the front desk at the conclusion of your visit. What About Insurance? While not every insurance provider or policy covers services from acupuncture physicians, Dr. Lau always works with providers who do. You can submit your insurance information directly to our insurance processors who will then notify us about your benefits and deductible, if any.
What can I expect on the first visit? Your first visit will include a thorough intake and any examination necessary, followed by your first treatment. Most first visits take about 90 minutes from start to finish. I've never had acupuncture before. What is it like? It's not like getting a shot. Acupuncture needles are extremely thin -- slender enough that they can be bent like the fibers in a hairbrush -- and they are not hollow.

I have been seeing Brian Lua for a couple years. He has been able to get me thru all my aches and pains. I had a heavy object impact the top of my head and suffered from a concussion and nerve damage. He does deep tissue message to hurting areas, neck, back, head, knees and it always feels great afterwards. Missed him during COVId. But now I’m back on track. Much better than using the neurologist pills with side effects and even says they may cause suicidal thoughts and pain killers. Nice to wake up pain free and play pickleball and golf almost every day at age 69. All my friends are getting

Dr. Lau is highly skilled and knowledgeable Acupuncture Physician. He was the only person able to relieve and completely cure my plantar fasciitis. I was in so much pain and tried physical therapy, chiropractic and massage but only felt momentary improvemnt. Only after a few treatments I was able to feel a lot of relieve and after about 12 sessions or my foot pain was completely. I now see him for my wrist pain. He helps me tremendously. I drive over an hour to see him as there are not many acupuncturists in the area with his skill level. His dry needling techniques are above and beyond I have

Dr. Lau is my go to acupuncturist and I would highly recommend him to anyone with any type of pain or injury. He has treated me on and off now for about 3 years for various musculoskeletal injuries ranging from golfer's elbow, low back pain and a hamstring strain. His knowledge and expertise in Sports Medicine Acupuncture truly shows in the results from his treatments. I can't thank him enough for keeping me at my peak performance.

I have had vulnerability to neck and back strains since my teens. I had tried many treatment options over the years including Chiropractors and Physical Therapists, but was rarely satisfied. I am not a fan of needles, so trying something like acupuncture was not at all on my radar until I met Dr. Brian Lau. He is very knowledgeable and practical, which allowed me to put my trust in him despite my misgivings about needles as treatment.
Whenever I overdo it and pull something I have been exclusively going to Dr. Lau for many years now . He has been on-point and highly effective in resolving these

Dr. Lau (Brian) offers many wonderful services that have reduced my various pains substantially (older sports related issues and newer work stress related issues). He is immensely qualified at what he does, and his overall calm demeanor also helps with the healing process. Even our steady stream of visitors make time for appointments when they come. For example, my mother-in-law recently had several sequential visits on her last trip here and now reports zero knee pain after years of problems.
