Services
Prior to our session, we will have a discussion about the look, feel and style that you would like to achieve during your photo shoot. During an average photo shoot, we will spend an hour taking multiple photos to capture many priceless moments. We will do lots of different poses, backgrounds, and walk around our location to get new perspectives.
The Palace of Fine Arts offers both stunning architectural details and beautiful lighting. There are also options for close ups and wide angle shots, providing for a variety of photos and settings. Stretching a mile below the rugged cliffs on the Presidio's wetwrn shoreline, Baker Beach's spectacular outside-the-Gate views of the Bridge and the Marin Headlands are unsurpassed.

Mini sessions are quick and fun sessions on specific dates, times and locations and are a great way to capture your family. Carly Tabak Photography offers several mini sessions during the year and space is limited. During the mini session, I will take multiple photos and will incorporate different poses and backgrounds.

Carly took our first family photos ever and I only wish I met her sooner! She made taking photos relaxed and fun (which was not the expectation of my boys). Carly is incredible. I have two very high-energy kids (1.5 and 4yo) and Carly managed to get a beautiful set of family photos in 25 minutes. She is friendly, clear with her instructions, and (of course most importantly) produces stunning family photos. I can't wait to see what she does with us next year...

I was determined to have Golden Gate bridge photos for our family Holiday cards this year. Yelp led me to Carly and we booked one of her 'mini sessions' (25 minutes for 10 high res PDF photos). From the beginning, Carly was responsive and flexible, even squeezing us in on a busy day in between her other clients when we were hoping for a certain weekend.

We took our family pics at Stow Lake. Carly is quick, knew her way around and chose the best lighting. It was early in the morning, and it felt a little wet that morning, so needless to say our hair became quite frizzy as the mini session went on. My 1.5 yr old was not in the greatest mood this morning, but Carly was able to squeeze out a few good happy pictures of her, hopefully we can go back or do a different location and time in the future. This was our first photoshoot as a family of four, so we now have some good pics to share with our friends/family.

She gave us info on what to wear, what would look the best in photos, the time of day that would be the best, and checked in with reminders leading up to the date of our shoot. She also was incredibly responsive with all of my questions and emails and just a lovely person to spend the afternoon with getting your photo taken. :)

Outstanding pictures! My husband and I aren't really picture people but Carly made us feel so comfortable and took the most amazing photos. Our session was in the morning at the Palace of Fine Arts and I was impressed that Carly knew every picture perfect spot, she is truly a master at what she does. She made the whole process fun and easy. We will cherish these pictures forever and hope to do it again next year!

Just received our final assortment of couple's maternity pictures from Carly and they look amazing!
Everything about working with Carly was super easy from beginning to end. After finding her on Yelp, we contacted her a couple of months in advance and suggested a date. She responded promptly and shared her suggestions for locations with a portfolio of samples. Her photos captured a good mix of posed and candid moments and featured colors that ranged from vibrant, muted but stylized, and tasteful black and whites.

Great experience! We drove from San Jose to San Francisco in Friday evening commute traffic. Ugh, not fun. But the mini photo shoot was well worth it! Our family of four (mom, dad and 2 teens) had a lot of fun with Carly. She's relaxed and super positive-- very easy to work with! We received our edited photos earlier than expected and they came out great!

Carly was flexible on the time and location to make sure we got the bright, beautiful photos we wanted. And then our kids didn't cooperate and we were anxious that is was all for naught, but when we got the gallery link -- the photos were incredible. We could not be happier.

Carly is amazing and a true professional! From beginning to end, she's extremely organized and efficient. She does a great job communicating all expectations and even giving you location ideas and what to wear. She is so easy going and she made the photo shoot really fun and comfortable. We were nervous about the photo shoot because our daughter is extremely shy around strangers. This was our first time having professional photos taken of our family and I am so happy Carly was our photographer. She is easy to work with and is a natural at photographing people. Somehow she managed to get my three kids (6 and under) all looking at the camera and smiling! In addition to taking amazing photos, her turnaround time is super quick. Carly is terrific. We used her for a mini-photo shoot this year and she was incredibly accommodating with a last minute schedule change we needed and also a fantastic quick, ahead of schedule turn around time.

Carly recently did a shoot for our family for our Christmas cards, and we love the way they turned out! Carly was very easy to work with- responded quickly to emails, and she made the photo shoot very fun. She instantly put us at ease with her lively personality! Even though we only spent a half our with her, we felt like we'd known her for a lot longer. She was fun and silly with our 10 month old (which was perfect for him!) and the pictures are fantastic. Carly did my maternity pictures about a week and a half ago! I am so happy with how they turned out. She made it so easy to celebrate such a special event for my partner and I.
She is one of the happiest people that I have ever met and makes the whole process such a great experience. It is really hard to walk around when you're so far along, but she made it easy for us to get through it.
Her pricing is very reasonable, which is difficult to find in this city. She did not cost us an arm and a leg, which is great when you're having a child.

We had a fabulous experience with Carly for our family holiday photos! She is so fun and easy to work with. You can tell she really cared about getting good shots and that we all looked our best in the photos. And she delivered the photos by email within days from the shoot. We booked Carly for a newborn session with our two week old daughter. Carly responded to our inquiry promptly and was easy to schedule. She came to our home and brought all of her own props and supplies. She was definitely prepared! She instantly made me, the baby, and my husband feel comfortable and at ease with the camera.
She told us it would be a few weeks before we received the finished photos but she really only took a few days. We were very happy with the photos. They were bright, polished, and candid. Carly did a great job! I would definitely recommend her services.
