The California Naturopathic Doctors Association (CNDA) is a professional membership association representing California naturopathic doctors (NDs). The CNDA is incorporated as a California mutual benefit 501(c)(6) nonprofit corporation. The Board of the CNDA annually convenes for strategic planning that focuses on the future of the organization.

We are disappointed to find that the Berkeley Wellness article mistakenly conflates traditional naturopathy and naturopathic medicine. Confusion among lay people is understandable, because the term "naturopath" is not protected by law in California. This is why licensure and regulation of trained naturopathic doctors is essential - to protect patients from untrained individuals.
Perform CLIA waved tests in office, such as urinalyses and pregnancy - however, this requires applying for lab director status. Treat with diet, herbs, nutrients, homeopathics, hydrotherapy, and neuromuscular technique Grades 1-4. Independently prescribe natural and synthetic hormones (although testosterone and HCG require a DEA number).
Since NDs do not hold a physician title, we are unable to sign provide vaccine exemptions. Please refer to information regarding SB277 for greater context. The Naturopathic Medicine Committee is working on an update for the regulatory language for IV therapies to include injection specialties encompassing PRP, micro-needling, and other aesthetic procedures.
