Back Bay Health & Performance
You deserve to feel good in your body, to have energy, to move with confidence, and to experience strength. We work with the go-getters. The people who like to get after it without having to choose between their health, career, family and play. But striking that balance can be tough and leave you feeling stuck, drained or sidelined with pain or injury.

Our team members at Back Bay Health lead monthly interactive workshops for the general public out of our Back Bay studio and lead on-site corporate wellness workshops for businesses in the Boston area. We keep the number of attendees low for these sessions so sign up to be the first to know when we release our upcoming workshop schedule.
Services
Back pain isn't only about your back, IBS is about more than your diet and fatigue isn't just about sleep. We look at you like a whole person and help get to the bottom of your issues with a uniquely holistic approach. You deserve a multidisciplinary team working together to connect the dots and keep you moving forward.
Physical therapy at Back Bay Health covers the spectrum from injury rehabilitation to sports performance. Whether you're trying to get back to the weight room or the yoga mat, we'll help you develop the strength, stability and mobility that you need to be at your best. You can be confident that your program will be built specifically for YOU and based on the most up-to-date evidence in rehab and exercise science.
One-on-one nutrition counseling empowers you to prioritize yourself. Nutrition plays a pivotal role in how we feel and in our potential to perform - from careers to sports to everyday life. When low energy, digestive distress, or conflicting messages from mainstream media get in the way, it's easy to feel stuck.
Sports chiropractic at Back Bay Health extends beyond the cracking, rubbing and taping typical of the field. We take an active approach that views you not as a stack of bones that can become misaligned, but as the dynamic, resilient human you are. At the core, chiropractic care is about helping you feel better in your body and helping you develop the skills for managing the pain, tension, stiffness, and stresses of your life.
HSA, FSA, all major credit cards accepted. Out-of-network billing available for all services (we provide a "Superbill" for services that you submit to insurance for reimbursement). We are "out-of-network" providers for most insurance companies. This means we charge our fee at the time of your visit and then provide you with a Superbill (detailed invoice) for you to submit to your insurance.

My husband and I converted to a vegan diet in our mid 60's. We had questions about whether we were getting enough protein and other nutrients on a daily basis. Heather evaluated our daily intake and made many helpful recommendations on ways to add more protein, increase our omega 3s and decrease saturated fats. She provided us with great recipes adding a variety of new foods and flavors to our daily meal plan. Heather is extremely knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and gave us the information and confidence we needed to make good choices going forward.

I’ve been working with Tim for a few months. I came to BBH in a really bad spot. I was in a lot of pain and had no strategy to get myself out of it. Tim has been a pleasure to work with and has helped me build a toolkit that has meaningfully improved the quality of my life. I’ve since referred my dad. It is not convenient for me to get to back bay but I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Laura is the best! I had been experiencing neck and shoulder issues for a year and had gotten to a point where I had to stop working out entirely. In less than 2 months Laura had me feeling back to normal. Cant recommend Back Bay Health enough!

I injured my back last June. I had pain 24/7 which was excruciating. I started seeing Laura and that was the greatest move I could of made. She is incredible and just seems to know so much about everything. She worked with with for a few months and it was like a miracle. I was actually able to function and work again with very little to know pain. I’ve been to a lot of therapist over the years but Laura is very special. She cares about her clients. She would tape all my exercises so I could use them at home to ensure I was doing them right. During the months I was working with Laura I needed

Laura is a fantastic Physical Therapist and I would recommend her without reservations. She is highly knowledgeable and a great listener, and drives to an understanding of the root causes. From there, she takes a flexible and pragmatic approach, and finds ways to continue to challenge you and keep things interesting. All of this is rounded out by a clear passion for her work and her patients.

Back Bay Health is a one stop shop for all things good: movement and sustainable, long term wellness. I found Tim and Laura almost a year ago while suffering from acne during quarantine. Tim, a functional dietician, worked with me to get to the internal source of my acne and gave me evidence-based approaches to address it without ever pushing medications. Laura worked with me to address ongoing hip pain following a torn labrum that never seemed to heal. Perhaps the biggest takeaway for me here was to stop “babying” my hip. Years of doing that post injury just led to more issues. Adding heavy

I was referred to Dr. Laura Latham from my PT prior to delivering my first child to work on pre/post partum pelvic floor health. Dr. Latham is SO passionate about what she does and I honestly could not have gone through my pregnancy journey without her. She is so much more than a traditional chiropractor and really focuses on the importance of continued functional movement throughout pregnancy, providing lots of resources and support. I was so lucky to have found her and highly recommend Back Bay Health and Performance to any current or future mom. Thank you Laura!!!

I will always come to Tim for rehab and any problem pains in the future. My treatment (virtual because of covid), was directed, had explicit goals, I made clear progress and I ended up in a better position than I had been before. This is so very effective. I completely recommend.

Laura cured the night time leg cramps I had for over 10 years with one simple move. My orthopedist told me there was no way to get rid of them. She deepened my understanding of mind/body connection in a way I was able to apply in my everyday life. Thank you, Laura!

My ortho recommended I see a non-traditional chiropractor for a hip injury that had taken me out for 12+ months. I had pursued typical physical therapy with minimal improvements. I found Tim and Laura through a personal trainer I used to work with.

In two months of working together, I went from unable run, play sports, and sleep pain-free to playing sports, taking 1/8th the Advil, and sleeping well. Unfortunately, I'm moving from Boston, but Laura and Tim helped me find help in my new city.

I was under the care of Tim Latham for over a year at Back Bay Health & Performance - I would happily still be, but I've moved out of state since. Tim provides a collaborative experience towards your health goals - he listens, he has a wealth of expertise and knowledge in integrative health, and he empowers you to join in the conversation and step up to be an active participant in your own outcomes. He is so patient. He asks the right questions and provides easy-to-understand explanations of test results and their implications. He worked with me in all areas - stress management, nutrition

I sprained my ankle playing volleyball 9 days ago. Couldnt put any weight on it for 3 days, and have been limping since. It felt like the inside part of my ankle was getting jammed whenever I bent it to push off after taking a step or walking down stairs. Pretty painful 25% improvement from when it first happened. I went to Back Bay Health today and they got my ankle moving again with mobilizations and exercise.
There was an uncomfortable feeling during the actual treatment, but about 3 hours later it all settled and I’m about 95% pain free. Can bend it with only mild soreness.
I’m so much

A year ago I was suffering from a terrible skin condition on my legs that I feared would spread to areas of my body that could not be covered so easily. Traditional dermatologist treatments were unsuccessful. What I learned, through consultation with Dr. Tim Latham, was that I had a gluten allergy that was presenting very differently in my system than the typical gastro symptoms. Working through nutrition and dietary supplements, Dr. Latham helped me to heal my gut, clear my skin, and I'm feeling WELL! I've also lost 15 lbs! I'm so happy to have met him. I feel fortunate to have

On July 27th, 2016 I walked through the doors of Boston Health and Performance, which would be a day that changed my life forever. I went in with chronic joint pain and fatigue, I was barely sleeping and was thus always tired and foggy. Even though prior specialists had told me I was perfectly healthy, I knew I wasn't. I was just shy of my 30th birthday and knew that none of this was normal. That day Laura and then Tim about 2 months later sat patiently with me each for an hour while we went over my never ending symptoms. I've never felt so heard in my entire life.
