Auke Bay Cafe is on the ground floor of the Squires building in Auke Bay Alaska. We serve breakfast from 7am to 5pm daily. We feature waffles & crepes but we have full breakfast menu. Lunch is served from 11am to 9pm Monday through Friday and from noon to 9pm on the weekends. We feature clam chowder, fish & chips and burgers.
Dinner is served every night 5pm to 9pm. We feature Mexican & Italian menus. We have a full espresso coffee shop & ice cream available all day featuring milkshakes with a donut. Our menus are available on our home page. Takeout & curbside service available.

Not great. the guy who took our order was kinda rude and indifferent and left things we asked for off our order. ordering our breakfast seemed to inconvenience him. the other, shorter guy was a lot nicer and actually seemed to care. bacon tasted old, and kinda weird how you have to go get your own butter and syrup for your waffle. odd experience over all, wouldn’t go back

Had my Denver omelette remade twice. First time ordered without cheese and the omelette came floating with cheese inside out. Asked the guy at the front to remake and Denver omelette came filled with tomato's and mushrooms. Customer service just isn't good. The same person taking the orders also said "picky eater huh?" Gave up trying to have it be remade after that. Also this happens 50% of the time. This place used to be good but it's getting worse each time I give it a shot.

I love this place, the only thing I can think of as a suggestion for improvement is a little more of an environmentally friendly touch (plastic stir stick) and it would be nicer if the staff felt comfortable to use their phone in the open rather than ducking down behind the counter, I waited close to 10 min. Because of it. Other than that the staff are super nice.
1 or 2 more meatless options would be greatly appreciated as well.

Well, breakfast here was disappointing given the high reviews. First impression: the young man at the register taking orders had to have been high, or just hated his job. I asked if they had sugar free flavors for a latte and he just stared at me confused and said, "I don't think so." So you don't or you just don't want to ask the barista standing next to you?
Next, the food. The actual waffles were good but toppings? Would you like some waffle with your sugar? The strawberries were oozing with thick syrup and the apples the same. Literally pie filling. Possibly canned

Great food, good prices, fun twists on comfort foods. We ate dinner here at night and breakfast again in the morning.
The Mexican food is good and the breakfast was really great. The staff was nice and attentive.
I will say, I called the restaurant and was not super impressed, but once I went in, everything was better. Remember, millennials, gen Y and gen Z don't normally communicate by telephone, so I think they are bad at it...
Just go and enjoy.

We waited 1 hour for 2 milkshakes! They were done but they didn't even tell us even after we made eye contact multiple times. The milkshakes weren't even that good. We finally decided to get our money back and the ladies excuse was "we thought you guys left." And she slammed the milkshakes down on the counter. We even saw the short girl touch her hair and continued to make milkshakes without washing her hands. This is a hate crime! We are very displeased, never going again. >:(

First time there. Had biscuits and sausage gravy. Pretty good, but too much baking soda in the biscuits. Not sure if they were from a mix or not.
One small complaint: one table, when I arrived had dirty dishes on it. Not much of a problem because there were sufficient tables available. But they were not picked up until shortly before I was finished.

Great new addition to the area. While it's not out of this world, burgers were great. Tall and filled with goodies. Love the ability to customize toppings (caramelized onions? Whaaat?!?). Owner (I'm assuming) was visible and attentive. Chicken sandwich was great; tacos were sloppy and tasty. Haven't tried waffles yet, but they're on the list as are the milkshakes! Expect continued improvement as they work through the new biz bugs...but will definitely make this a regular haunt. Thanks!

Auke Bay Cafe took over the space that was for GonZo CULT AK. Currently offering breakfast, lunch, drinks, ice cream; their hours are 0700-1700. Beginning February 17, their hours shall extend to 2100 with dinner service for that time frame offering Mexican food, later followed by Italian food, with a focus on food delivery service for Mendenhall Valley.
On our recent visit, we ordered a Denver Omelette, a Garden Salad, shared the dishes. The food quality was good, having the kitchen staff from TK McGaguires.
